With all the equipment they have in place they should change the traffic pattern and make it one direction only on the cut through from West OX to 29 between Costco and HD.

As if that Costco wasn't crazy enough. I heard they were also going to begin offering Lo Mein and a soda for $1.50 also.

That's pretty awesome. Where on fairfaxcounty.gov do I go search for these types of applications?

God help anyone trying to shop at that plaza on the weekend. Not only is it going to be a challenge navigating near Costco, this will impact Home Depot very significantly.

I assumed that this was going to be a gas station when I drove by there last night, but dread how badly traffic is going to be disrupted with people trying to save 3-5 cents on a gallon of gas. I did not read the entire 130+ pages of the planning document, but are there any guidance provided regarding traffic flow? The Express Mart on Old Keene Mill is bad enough with cars going the wrong way, but can you imagine what a goat rodeo this will be on a Saturday around 2pm?

yea people pay in cash. but shhhh they are all gov workers or paid by gov workers who borrowed all the cash instead of using a credit card. shhhhh

-----------------------------
well. now that fairfax is just d.c.'s back yard.

i suppose facist fairfax gov's next move it to make a city ordinanace that costo must pay

$12 / hr to anyone with a green card that works at costco

because you'd be mean if you didn't. your a terrible person for even thinking that's not so ! go blow your head off.

oh wait. that's just a cry story to fool you.

they are going to pay your kid < min wage and refuse aid while inviting in more of their relatives

know what?

they hire facists to save money and gain power in the city

then cry when the facists use political power to demand $12 / hr

what comes around goes around

start acting like a citizen, then expect citizenry

how about that ?

Let me preface my statement by saying that I love costco gas stations (and their low gas prices) and will likely patronize the Fairfax gas station regularly once it is built

I too have concerns abou the traffic problems this will create. Trying to go to this shopping center on a saturday or a sunday is practically impossible. With there only being two points of access to the costco parking lot and the home depot parking lot from the center road, it is very difficult to get in or out due to all the cars turning against traffic. Additionally, the parking spaces are typically mostly taken.

I skimmed the Fairfax County document and costco claims that the gas station construction will only take away something like 5 parking spaces from the total available. That may be fine once it is built but if you drive by now you will notice many more spots are gone during construction. It looks like access to West Ox rd and Piney Branch are going to remain the same, thus it will still be difficult to get in and out of the shopping center.

I predict a clusterfuck!

Costco gas stations only go one direction, so it won't be the same cluster f$&! as the Keene Mill station.
Also, Costco gas stations usually have like 12 lanes and a self-contained backup area. My issue is getting out on the Home Depot side into that one lane nightmare, especially during holidays.

Its a mystery to me why people will sit in lines at gas stations to save 15-20 cents a gallon. The overall savings may be four bucks, not near enough to tempt me to drive out of my way and fight to get to a pump. Same people go to Starbucks and get a five dollar coffee without a thought.
