This was taken around Halloween three years ago. I was someone taking a picture. It wasn't until the picture was looked at once the person got home that image was noticed.

Love urban exploration. Planning on making a visit on Halloween night. Super Stealth mode of course... Not stupid enough to drive right up into a nest of FFX county police...

I went to this bridge back in high school, 8-9 years ago or so. It was creepy, visited right before they got rid of Midgetville in Vienna too. Never saw any cops out there though. No surprise that it's "heavily" enforced now though.

FCPD's new slogan: "We focus on the little things, as to leave the relevant matters of our community unattended to fester"

Fairfax County Police at their finest. "Monitored and enforced to protect fools from themselves." Nice.

Call ICANN. They committed fraud when they misrepresented themselves on the domain registration for colchesteroverpass.org.

And they wonder why people ask for an oversight board. These FCPD fools can't be trusted even to identify themselves when trying to perform a fairly benign act of public service.

Just wondering, has anyone been killed on the tracks above the bridge? About 12 years ago I went with some friends and climbed up the bridge onto the tracks and took some pics. We didn't know it was an active railroad...how do any of us survive to adulthood?

Wait. Are you telling me that that website was assembled by FCPD, yet they lied about who they were when setting up the domain? Leave it to FFX police to make total asses of themselves.

That's what it looks like. It is possible that someone set the site up independently and used the FCPD phone number in the registration. A FOIA request to FCPD could clear this up. Posting videos of county citizens online without their consent is also sketchy.

Don't be soft! This is a site by one or a couple of people who live near Bunnyman Bridge who don't want people showing up there. What does it really show? A couple of idiots who managed to get themsemves arrested over the last ????? years. The last time I went there (Halloween night 2010) some uppity bitch stopped and 'warned' me that 'the neighbors all call the police when they see 'tresspassers'. My response? "Thanks!" We milled around from about 11:55 - 12:20. No cops. Sadly, the Bunnyman didn't show up either.

Just realized I drove threw that tunnel about a year ago, just exploring that way down Colchester. Didn't know THAT was THE bunny man bridge. Over the years around here, many other bridges were referred to as "Bunny Man Bridge".

You're fucked. The Bunny man see's and records everybody who disturbs the area around the bridge. It's only a matter of time before he shows up at your front door.

You better write an apology letter and put it under the bridge on Halloween night. It's the only way you can remove the curse.

Fuck the neighbors, if they don't like it they should move. The bridge was there first.

Don't move next door to Disney land and then bitch about the traffic.

You moron. You just made the case for the neighbors. Nobody wants a bunch of drunk, obnoxious kids hanging around anywhere near their property. That 'uppity bitch' was trying to do you a favor. I would have called the cops in a heartbeat. Other more 'proactive' neighbors might have gone out with a gun, especially in the current climate.

Did you even look at that website? The primary emphasis is on safety. The train rolls right over that bridge. Nobody wants to see some asshole climb up there and get mowed down. Plus the roads in that area are challenging at best. It would not take much for a pedestrian to become an unwitting target, especially at night.

Nobody said you can't use the road as long as you use it to drive on, not hang on. Otherwise, take the party elsewhere.

The tone of that website is not encouraging. It has an obnoxious, patronizing, law enforcement flavor. "Protecting Fools from Themselves"?

One of the videos does provide a list of potential charges and fees, that's helpful as long as it's accurate.

But I don't sympathize much with the property owners. They choose to live near an urban legend. They all have enough money to move somewhere else if they don't like the consequences of that.

I'm sceptical of the "Sully" Police District connection, since the site is located squarely in the "Springfield" District!

Yep, you're right about the bridge being in the Sully police distrct. I was thinking thinking that the Magisterial Districts and the Police Districts were the same, but this proves me wrong!

It's not fair. It's a free country. We should be allowed, and even enourged to take to this street and do our best to indeed find out what is really the situation!

The wealth homeowners that are buying the homes near this bridge may no something we do not, and that is why they are buying these homes and have made this site. Perhaps they know the Truth about the bridge, and want to keep people away so that it dosen't disrupt their profits.

If they were smart, they'd put together some money and set up a tour and charge admission. It's not to terribly difficult to put together these days. The Bunnyman Bridge is world reknown, so there would definitely be a market for it.

Yawn...

Ok, so don't trespass on the bridge.
Don't park on private property.
Don't impede traffic.
Don't vandalize or spray graffiti on the bridge.

There's still plenty of legal places to park and hike in there. There's no law against taking photos of a bridge.

As for trespassing on the bridge...I mean you're up there doing whatever and some resident come and yells at you to get down and didn't you read the sign. If it's Halloween night? That's one thing but any other night of the year...by the time I'm aware of a resident calling police or see the police rolling up in there...I'm half a mile into the surrounding forest. Maybe they'll call in a chopper and maybe they won't...I highly doubt it for a lone trespasser.

So its my understanding that the top of the bridge itself is private property, belongs to the railroad.

But the road going under the bridge is public. There's absolutely no law against me driving under bridge, walking under the bridge, stopping there for a few moments, or taking pictures.

The neighbors can go fuck themselves.

Wrong, clown.

"The railroad tracks and the overpass structure are owned by Norfolk Southern Corporation (NSC). The railroad right of way extends out fifty feet on either side of the tracks. The property is posted. In Fairfax County trespass on posted property is a Class I misdemeanor, punishable by up to 12 months in jail and a $2500 fine."
