ANNANDALE, Va. - An incident in Fairfax County forced the school district to keep some students in school Thursday afternoon.
There were reports of shots fired in the 8500 block of Varsity Court in Annandale, near Route 236, but police tell WTOP they found no evidence of any gunfire.

Streets were blocked off and several schools, including Camelot, Mantua and Wake Forest elementary schools, kept students in a secure location while police investigated. Frost Middle School, Woodson High School and St. Ambrose Catholic Church were also affected.

Students were released just after 3 p.m.
