$15~20 bucks to walk around town center and drink? Am I missing something.. my friends and I do that regularly for free (well.. except for the bar tabs).

Drink specials and an excuse for strangers to socialize.

So, I did go to this last night, and wasn't all that impressed.

The organizers were friendly enough, and there was a diverse group of people out of all ages.

The main problems:

1. Not a lot of people showed up in costume. People showed up in costume that didn't pay the registration fee, followed us around all night, and got the same "benefits" as the rest of us.

2. Speaking of the "benefits," there were none. None of the bars (except the last one) knew we were coming, there were no designated areas for us, no wristbands, and only half the group had name tags. All of the drinks were full price, and the "drink specials" were really just specialty cocktails.

3. The prize for the costume contest was "maybe a discount for a future event."

It was a good idea in principle, and was a good opportunity to meet people, but the execution was pretty sloppy. I would definitely go again if it was better organized.
