Car with Loud Boom Speakers- Still 70's and Ghetto?
Posted by: Lexus ()

So this guy pulls up next me at a light in neon and has his stereo as loud as possible with old style 80's boom speakers.

My thoughts:

1) I don't want to hear your crappy ass music.
2) You look at like some disco ass guy from the 70-80's.
3) Have fun with your hearing aid in a couple of years.
4) If you only knew what an idiot you like right now.

Didn't playing loud boom boom speakers go out about 15 years ago unless you live in the Bronx in NY?

Some dude pulled up next to me yesterday afternoon blasting, and I mean BLASTING, the Black Eyed Peas' "I gotta feeling, that tonight is going to be a good night" song. I considered retaliation with some Slayer, but my sound system couldn't compare. So I let him continue to proclaim his homosexuality through song...

Is that the song that has "Mazel Tov" in it? I should have known the Black Eyed Peas would produce an abomination like that.

I think so. Who knows. Who cares. It's shit.

LOL, a year or two ago I pulled up to a light in Allentown, PA, and some younger guy had Loverboy's "Everybody's Working for the Weekend" cranked as loud as you could possibly imagine. Like so loud it had to have hurt his ears. I actually started laughing and he looked pretty embarrassed and turned it down a little. It was like a scene from a goofy comedy movie.

Lemme guess....it was the Friday 5 o'clock whistle on some pop station. Followed by "I don't wanna work, I just wanna bang on these drums all day!"

It also reminds me of the Beavis and Butthead show when that Loverboy video was shown and they said something like "didn't they play at the county fair last year?"

I'm guilty of this. I can't help it. I don't have a BOOMING system, just factory, but I sometimes crank it up when stuff like Don't Stop Believin' or several Queen songs and other stuff that is decidedly NOT cool comes on. I try to turn it down at stop lights though. Call them guilty pleasures if you want. I AM NOT ASHAMED! (I am ashamed.)

I'll never forget the time I had the Friends theme song cranked (it was when it was getting radio play) and I was singing along at a stop light doing the stupid clap thing and I look and there were two chicks in a convertible next to me just staring at me with smirks. That was embarrassing as fuck.

I listen to all types of music, and I crank it while driving. However, if I come to a stop light, I will ALWAYS turn it down.

I too, love to crank some tunes in the car, but I always turn down the music at stop lights. Personally I find it offensive to have others music shoved in my ears and secondly, there is no way I want myself embarrassed by some of the music I play. LMAO! I even put the windows up sometimes so I can enjoy the tunes at a louder volume. Thank god for cellphones because now I don't look so crazy at stop lights singing along.

Oh, and I'll be damned if I'm going to play tune to "look cool." I'm your Boogie Man, I'm your Boogie Man, that's what I am!

I usually turn Stern down if I'm sitting at a light with my windows down. One time I was listening while Crazy Alice was flipping out and calling people "cocksucking n-words" and I realized people standing at the bus stop were looking at me. Figured I could get my ass kicked some day if I didn't take caution, plus I wouldn't want a little kid to hear stuff like that.

I bump my music sometimes, other times I just like hearing the sounds of my exhaust and engine. I have a built in factory sub with a Bose system, so the sound is great no matter what.

I remember seeing ZZ Top at the Cap Center back in 78 and Loverboy opened up for them. My friends and I were wondering who the fuck these assholes were and why are they on the bill with ZZ Top. Even then they had the dopey headbands and homoriffic outfits.
