DynCorp Moving Headquarters from Falls Church to Ft. Worth?
DynCorp federal contractor considers moving HQ to Texas

A Ft. Worth newspaper reports that DynCorp is being wooed by the city to move its headquarters from Falls Church to Texas.

The company already has a large number of employees in Ft. Worth, but under the moving scenario, would send 100 employees out of its Falls Church headquarters and move them to Ft. Worth.

"We are currently exploring and considering ways to operate more efficiently and effectively while reducing our costs," said Ashley Vanarsdall Burke, senior vice president of Communications at the company, in an email to Patch.

"Part of that process includes an examination of our facilities and our location-sensitive operating costs everywhere we have operations. It is important to note, however, that with many of our customers based in the Washington, D.C. area, we will always have a presence in Virginia," she noted.

DynCorp International is located at 3190 Fairview Park off of Route 50.

DynCorp is headquartered in Falls Church. It's being wooed by Ft. Worth to move its headquarters to Texas.

Yesterday they announced a 3 year lease deal to consolidate their headquarters in Falls Church to Tysons, including pooling other office locations to their new Tysons headquarters.

Some of the back office positions are going to Fortworth (I believe a dozen in total), but the headquarters will be in Tysons for atleast 3 years.

The reason?

No matter the lower tax rate in Texas, Virginia is where DynCorp sees its adversaries and partners and the market. Being in Texas would be too far from their core strength region.

Go back to business school, learn why businesses choose where to HQ for more reasons than just the tax rate; otherwise every company would be in Delaware dumb shit.

What ever happened to the DynCorp headquarters in Reston? Is that the one they moved to Falls Church now in Tysons?

Sounds like they like to play the field with their building. Probably threaten to move out if they don't this or that.
