I have heard that there are going to be a number of parties in the places on the streets in celebration of the health care bill passage.
I've heard that the biggest will probably be over at Mason. Can anybody suggest where the best will be?

With federally funded abortions, death panels, the government "take-over" of health care and other mis-information being spread it is no wonder a large number of people are against the bill.

roughly 55-45 against among the people who think it'll make a difference. it's not a huge tilt. it could have a huge impact in the next two elections since much of the program won't be implemented till after the next presidential election and the Republicans will run on overturning it.

Most are against it, but it's only a 5 point swing of 55-45 against. In every news article I've read, the bill is very unpopular but often for the wrong reasons. Ultimately, most people see that it will benefit a few and impose higher expenses on the people who already have insurance.

insurers have been bankrolling health reform from 2008. remember Anthem BCBS, the company that jacked up premiums by 40% and restarted health reform in February. they're owned by Wellpoint.
"WellPoint and other insurers have welcomed expansive health-care REFORM as a way to increase the number of consumers who buy coverage plans. Nearly 46 million Americans have no health insurance and more are losing their employee-sponsored benefits as unemployment rises to a near 15-year high."

If the bill passed too easily, the liberal democrats would be able to insert the public option into the bill. The insurers are backing both parties to get exactly what they want in the final bill. They'll now turn their attention to backing the Republicans in the fall election to keep the public option from ever seeing the light of day.

I'M SICK OF SUPPORTING YOU! I am 25 and have to pay on my taxes this year. Didn't have to do that when Bush was in office...and my salary is not too different. I am so tired of paying for all the women on Maury Povich to not have jobs but have 5 kids, some with different fathers, some they don't know who the fathers are. Please, let me keep my hard earned money.

You have to read the bill closer.
The insurance companies will receive federal subsidies for those people who can't afford coverage that includes these benefits. They won't lose money.
Preexisting conditions exclusion is another of the benefits that doesn't take effect for 4 years. Current policies are grandfathered under the old law for another 8 years.
The insurance companies have plenty of time to collect data on its impact and jack up rates over the intervening period to accomodate these regulations. More than likely, they'll lobby congress to weaken the regulations.
In either case, their costs will be subsidized by the taxpayer.
