How do you play PS2 live with Verizon FIOs?

A few years back before I got Fios, my modem needed the ethernet, and phone jack line to be connected. I would simply plug another ethernet cable to the modem and my PS2 slim, and then the get second phone jack line and plug into my PS2 slim (the other phone line jack would be plugged into the modem before I got FIos). Now that I got verizon Fios, the new modem no longer needs the phone jack line. I have two phone jack lines are just laying around but still in the wall, not being used at all. One has a grey hue, the other a yellow hue.

I want to play PS2 live with Verizon FIOs. I got a extra ethernet cable and plugged one into the Verizon FIOs modem and the other into my PS2 slim. I then got one of the phone jack lines and plugged into the modem's extra ethernet ports (highlighted yellow) and the other phone jack line into my PS2 slim. It doesn't work. I have even switched between the two hue colored phone jack lines.

Does anyone know how to get PS2 live to work with Verizon Fios?
Things I used before switching to FIOs to go live: ethernet cable (extra one), phone jack lines (2), PS2 slim (port for ethernet and phone jack line), Verizon Fios modem that does not need phone jack lines to go online, I also got a computer nearby hooked up to the internet to the modem.

LOL at PS2.

But following that, if you have FiOS you don't need the phone jack at all, that is for dial-up Internet if you don't have broadband. Ethernet cable to FiOS is all you need. Throw away the phone cables.

You say it's been a few years since you played PS2 games online... Unfortunately you cannot play certain games online anymore. The servers for each game were run individually by the game's publisher, and can be taken down at any time.

Scroll to the bottom half of this page for a list of games that you can no longer play online:

I did just the ethernet cable it didn't work for the game. The game still has a live server availible. Do I have to use the disc for netwrok set up that was included when I bought the PS2 years ago?
