Police are looking for a man, possibly wearing a wig, who they said pepper sprayed store employees during a robbery at Potomac Mills mall.
The employees, who said they were with loss prevention at Saks, called police Thursday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. and said they saw a man shoplifting.
When the employees, a 40-year-old Manassas man and 32-year-old Woodbridge man, confronted the suspect in the parking lot, "the man sprayed both victims to their faces with pepper spray," Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
As the suspect ran from them and got in a car, he dropped the stolen items, about $1,300 worth of clothes, and a D.C. driver's license, Perok said.
The employees were able to give officers the tag number of the vehicle the suspect left in.
Officers identified the suspect as Derrick Kiwan Brown, 27, of 140 Kenilworth Ave., NE #3C in D.C.
He is wanted for two counts of malicious injury by caustic substance and one count of grand larceny.
Brown is black, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 190 pounds, and has a thin build. He has brown eyes and long black hair which may be a wig, police said.
