Has anyone worked as a Lawn Care Technician at Scotts?

I have an interview next week as a "Aerator/lawn tech" .....i googled about this position and found many, many, negative reviews regarding the position and the treatment Scotts gives their employees....

anyone out there work/worked for Scotts lawn Service?

Scott's is a franchised operation and work experience will ultimately depend on the(local) franchise owner's set-up.

You will work HARD from now until late Autumn with overtime earnings that will need to carry you through the (lean) Winter months. Winter season will have you at limited hourly pay... probably office work at no more than 25 hours per week and you'll need to plan/save your earnings from the (busy season) to carry you through. It's pretty much that way for any lawn care service in NVA.

Ask about overtime schedule during busy season and estimated down season hours. Typically, they won't be looking for long term/career oriented service staff and always lose many during the Winter slow. They just start hiring newbies again in the Spring- onward.

Supervisor positions are generally kept. You need to QUICKLY ascend to that or plan for the aforementioned.
