I hear the helicopter now. Is that what is going on?

It is running down New Braddock. They are shutting down the roadway.

I hear it too. More of a WTF for the last 5-10 min...now I hear about a bull...shut down power..Union Village Dr...Radcliff Ct...Braddock...New Braddock (sp?)...Union Mill. All I can do is keep listening.

Have in site. Telling officers you need to cross wide creek to get to bull? Getting a tad bit confused here.

Didn't this happen 2 days ago?

Sitting here with the scanner on. This has to be have going on for almost an hour. I thought murder suspect with all the scanner activity...only recently heard about a bull. No idea where it came from. They just let a vet into the closed roads. Wish it was bull shit. Can't wait to hear the ending. They continue to talk about the "power line cut", that is where the bull is as I type.

To all...google "fairfax county police scanner". Is free and will pop right up. Now talking about shotguns.

I heard the shotgun reference...wonder why that would be an option unless it was starting to harm people or the darts weren't working.

Bull is on media toward new braddock. Warning officers. Via Broadcastify.com. Shutting down all traffic Union Mill...New Braddock..will keep updating as I can but off to bed soon!

Bull is rushing from old Clifton Road to Clifton Road. Don't get why a vet has not shot a calm me down shot yet.

Don't mean to hog the airways. Just figure if I am hearing it on scanner, others who live by will appreciate the updates. Don't live anywhere near there.

Now this is setting fun. Just pulled of Fairfax One for an armed robbery at Red Hot & Blue 6482 Landsdowne Centre Dr.

Deadly force on the bull just authorized as it rammed a cruiser.

Attempted to ram an officer too. I am afraid he will be made into steaks soon.

Tranquilizer!! Owners are coming by to pick it up.

Bull shot 11:13. Waiting for meds to take effect. At least it seems to be almost over. Scanner just said "shot taking effect". Night all.

They are saying a dart may be taking effect...so maybe he lives after all.

Where did this bull come from anyways?

I wonder if it broke loose from Rocky Top farm off Union Mill Road. I know for years Bobby and Patches Cockrill had cattle up there.

Went across by Centreville High School. Spoke to one of the officers a half hour ago, yes they caught it. The other posters were correct. The Bull came over to the ponds then over old Braddock, down union mill, up new Braddock, back to union mill, down union mill then to the neighborhoods by the high school. Streets,roads shut down temporarily. Hopefully, no one was trampled or hit by the bull. An officer may or may not have been hit. Anyone know?


Then walking back, there was some action at the ponds, an ambulance and fire truck were there and many people outside.

Ha! Scanning the forum list I read this quickly as bull MOOSE.

I'm thinking WTF???

Ok, we saw the bull and police. Did anyone snap any pics or video. I saw the one from inside nova.

I had to call the Fairfax County police last night for an incident at my hotel...the same cops that were on the scene with the bull, were the same ones that showed up. The bull charged one of their vehicles. Left a HUGE dent on the driver's side rear door. They were talking about how stupid the vet tech was because they had plenty of chances to shoot the bull with the tranqulizer but acted like he had never held a gun before. They were pretty cool cops.

If anyone hascpics or vids, I contacted fox 5 this morning and they were interested in the story.

The suspect in this case had horns.

Fairfax County police chased a bull on the loose along New Braddock Road in Clifton on Saturday night before bringing him down with tranquilizers.

One witness said she was going for a nightly run when the bull ran right in front of her, and police made her mooove off.

Even better, though, is a video Kristi Mann captured of the slobbering bovine running by, surrounded by the swirl of police lights.

The chase went on for more than an hour -- with New Braddock Road shut down and a police helicopter overhead -- before officers shot the bull with a tranquilizer gun and took him into custody at Union Village Circle and Forest Run Drive.

There was no word late Saturday on where the bull belongs.

Animal Control Captures Wayward Cow

Sully Police District – Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a bull running loose near a shopping center at Union Mill Road in the Centreville area. The bull turned out to be a cow from a local farm that had been loose for a few days. The cow was reportedly aggressive, pregnant, and officers were warned it may attack if cornered.

The Scottish Highland cow had reportedly escaped from a farm on Winfield Road in Fairfax on Thursday, July 11 and police received several calls of sightings in the following days. Several attempts to corral the cow were unsuccessful.

Finally, Officers spotted the orange and brown horned cow at around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 coming out of the woods near Union Mill Road. The cow reportedly charged the officers and fled through neighborhood yards. Officers were eventually able to tranquilize the cow. A veterinarian who had responded to assist was injured during the animal’s apprehension and was later treated for her non life-threatening wounds. The cow was not injured.
