How much do you spend in food for the month? How many kids do you have and what kind of food do you eat. Today I was reading the Washington Post, and this lady mother of 4 kids who are 13,9,6 and 9 months spends over $500 dollars in food stamps in 2 weeks. Does she just buy junk food? I don't know here

Poor people also tend to live "hand-to-mouth". They're not able to stock up during sales, and many of them can't even make the trip to supermarkets that have better prices - they're forced to do a lot of their shopping at corner markets where the prices are outrageous.

That stated, that's like $250 a week for a family of 5 (assuming baby daddy isn't around, ai-aight). That's $50 per person, per week. And considering all but the 13 year eat hardly anything then either one of four things:

1) She's lying.
2) She's guessing.
3) She's spending it on more than just those kids (think: baby daddy).
4) She's loading up at the corner store and buying excess and not even trying to find sales.

Any way you slice it, she's wasting $1,000 a month of YOUR money every week. Please keep working and sending in those taxes.

They stop you as you are going in. They ask what you are buying like steaks or seafood. They offer to buy what you want using their food stamp card. You wait outside or go in with them to pick out what you want. They go to the register and pay for the items using the snap card. Once outside they give you the food you give them cash. Its a simple process. They use the cash to go back inside and buy beer or lottery tickets which cannot be purchased with the snap card.

One huge reason we have all of this welfare crap piling up on us is that we have allowed businesses to shift their costs of doing business onto others. People need at a minimum food, shelter, clothing and a certain amount of medical care. In this area they are also going to need some form of transportation to and from work. If I am employing someone to work for me 40 hours per week, then I need to be paying them enough to cover these costs. If I don't then SOMEONE ELSE will have to make up the shortfall. Maybe that someone is a family member, maybe it's a charity or maybe it's the government. However as an employer I should have NO RIGHT to require that some third party cover my employees' costs of living just so I can acquire their labor at a lower cost.

I am not usually a fan of the "single mother" argument. However there are societal costs involved with the expectation that employees work more than 40-50 hours per week, especially when those hours become irregular. Maybe your business can make more money by having someone work 60 hours per week rather than 40. However that means my business now needs to have extended hours so that we are open when your employees are not working. Longer work hours also means less time available to maintain the house and car and to participate in community activities, meaning the neighborhoods start going to crap and more community stuff ends up being done by paid workers or a handful of volunteers who burn out.

I would HAPPILY spend $300 per food stamp bum to sterilize them, especially if it will stop the "single mother with 10 kids" type from popping out yet another bastard child.

As many other people have said, why have a child if you cannot afford to take care of your self?! It isn't the tax-payers (other fellow citizens) responsibility to take care of your fuck when you can't abstain from sex.

To Starve Them: no I am not saying to starve the children at all, it shouldn't get to that point in the first place. I can understand a mother having ONE child and things didn't work out with the husband/death in the family and the mom to need financial support, but how could you justify multiple bastard children?

First off birth control shots last for multiple years. Even not assuming that 300 compared to the 10,000 for one year a child costs and that the tax payer is footing while the welfare queens get us to pay for. Well 300 is a bargain. I already gave you an answer about the kids. One kid is fine to help (assist) thru tax-payer funding, multiple kids with no father is not okay.

We will NOT support mothers popping them out just to gain a bigger paycheck, which is provided by the government that steals money away from hard wording individuals. What is so hard to understand, in all honesty?

We are thinking about the children; no responsible adult would ever bring a child into the world without fully being able to support him/her. That is the ultimate crime.
