Video Game tournaments

Yeah so I'm a pretty big video game nerd...and I play a lot of older shit...and me and my friends have been wanting to put together video game tournaments...for example, a Super Smash Brothers (N64, not the shitty Gamecube version) 2 v 2 tournament...heh each team puts in $10, winners take all, 2nd gets $10 back. And also a Mortal Kombat Trilogy (N64 version) tournament...probably $5 buy in. Oh yeah, I live in Herndon, so it would probably be around here somewhere...right by frying pan park.

i actually can't find my super smash anywhere, it's pissing me off.
must have taken it to a friend's house or something. i'll go pick up a used copy tomorrow and make sure the skill is still there.

I've had smash borthers melee for ngc at my house for about a year and never bothered playing it, maybe I will give it a try

I don't think we can do it at my house, my parents are awful.

But the whole rstidman's house sounds good.

And yes, the GCN version is AWFUL. Don't bother, Nintendo just put too much thought into the game.

I usually host the local (MD/DC/VA) Street Fighter console tournaments, and I play with a pretty hardcore bunch that travel around the country for bigger tournaments (Chicago, Jersey, Philly, Cali, and this year !Vegas!) If you are interested in getting involved, check out http://www.shoryuken.com for Street Fighter tournaments, or if Tekken is more your flavor, try http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com. I forgot to mention, you can view the current tournaments in the FORUMS / TOURNAMENT AND EVENTS section. Currently there are no tournaments in the area. I will try to host one before June.
