Any Punishment for Perry?

I just read an article in the Post about Ashley's Law,
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/01/06/AR2009010603684.html

which will make it a state law for Police vehicles, statewide, to use both lights and sirens when going through a red light. This was precipitated by the death of Ashley MacIntosh in February of last year when a police cruiser slammed into her car while runnign a red light without its lights on.

The Officer (Amanda Perry) faced Wreckless Driving charges, but managed to extricate herself from those charges by being found Not Guilty by a judge (not in Fairfax).

Back to the article, it stated that it was Fairfax County Police policy, but not law to use her lights and siren when going through a red light.

So she violated policy. But were/are there any reprimand for this by her employer, the Fairfax County Police? How could I find out?

Of course no penalty, Female police officers and minority officers like the one that killed Sal Culosi. don't face the same level of scrutiny as others.

I'm not sure how you'd find out, but there was a big thread about this last year. It might be mentioned in there amongst all the fighting that went on.

Actually, she had her lights on but didn't have her siren on. The article in the OP clearly states that.

Quote

"The video camera in Perry's car confirmed witness accounts that the officer was using her emergency lights but not her siren as she entered the intersection with Boswell Road on a red light, traveling 38 to 44 miles per hour. "

Also, it was a Stafford judge, not a FFX judge that found her not guilty. Again, in the article the OP posted.
Quote

"Virginia law allows emergency vehicles to proceed through red lights if they are using their lights and sirens, but only "as may be reasonably necessary." Fairfax prosecutors charged Perry with reckless driving, but a substitute judge from Stafford County found her not guilty, which members of McIntosh's family said compounded their pain. "

Did you even bother reading the article you posted?

Did you even read his post? Idiot.

JayBee, I'd recomend either emailing the FCPD's Public Information Office or the Chief's Office. They might not be able to give you what you're looking for, but they'd be able to guide you down the right path.

I think Sal Culosi was an optometrist. Maybe he didn't see the gun.

Culosi was a Dentist, still not funny even if he was an Optometrist.

Might want to learn how to spell "reckless." Pretty sure it doesn't start with a W Einstein. Also pretty sure you need more things to do with your life than worry about an accident that didn't involve you or anyone you actually know. Your life seems pretty wreckless to me. By that of course, I mean worthless.

Oh and..-
A minor misspelling, but since you left off a comma in your own rebuttal, I will consider us even, Einstein.

I was looking for information. Its not like it was reported or these records are made public unless one inquires. I can name a dozen different things that you inquire or comment about that you are not directly involved in either, so your point is not valid at all.

If I am paying the salary of this individual and her job is to protect me, I have every right to inquire as to what reprimand she may or may not have received. We still live in a free society where one can ask questions. Its called scrutiny. There should be some transparency here since this involved the death of a tax paying citizen.

Your last two sentences are nonsense, Since your main point is to say that I need to more things to do, just taking the time to comment upon that is quite sad.

Are YOU directly involved here? If not, then why comment? By your own account, you shouldn't be getting involved. What gives, your last name Perry?
