exhaust ticket

i have a sliencer for my exhaust, still got a ticket. anyways im wondering if i pay the ehxaust ticket, will it lead to points being on my record? or is it just a fine.

If you are driving some 4 banger rice burner then you have to demolish the car and promise to never put farting mufflers on any car.

In the state of Virginia, there is no determining if an exhast is too loud; If it's not stock, it's not legal.

It may be a non-moving violation , but some insurance companies will charge more after the violation ..

Though it's usually a rare case, it is true that your rate can be raised. Usually though, equipment violations are issued on a "fix it" basis. If you come to court with proof that you have rectified the situation (replaced the exhaust,) it will be thrown out.

When I used to drive my "hooked up" honda accord, I was twice ticketed for illegal exhaust. I paid the tickets and went on about my business.
