person using spanking new Mercedes SL as generator during power outage... running the engine for 2.5 days

person using spanking new Mercedes SL as generator during power outage... running the engine for 2.5 days
he hooked it up with a DC/AC inverter and the car never stopped running,
well, except for once when he had to fill up the gas tank...
guess what he used it for? his TV and DVR.... :(
he has one more year of lease left on this car... I feel sorry for the sucker
who buys this car next.(probably will be a certified pre-owned Mercedes)
apparently he has been doing this for his last three leased Mercedes and
never had any problems... :(

i call bullshit. electricity is waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than fuel.

Hard to believe that someone who drives an SL cannot afford a generator. You'd think they'd learn after the first outage. -§

A person who has Pepco, where it easily takes a week for you power to get restored after the slightest wind gust.

depends if the cars engine is more efficient than the generator's. A good inverter will hook directly to the battery terminals and not a socket to increase amps.
