The best Kabob place is in Reston next to the Popeye's and International Center off Sunrise Valley & Reston Pwky.

I don't know what they put in their kabobs put it sure is addictive.

Where's amoo's? I'd like to try it.

I always drive into Arlington to Ravi's on Glebe just before rt 50. That and Kabob Palace around the corner from the crystal city restaurant are my two favorites

It's in the little strip mall across the street from Chesterbrook Shopping Center in McLean. Right on Old Dominion & that weird intersection with Kirby when you're coming up from Arlington.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's nice. Barely enough parking out front, but it's OK to park across the street in the shopping center lot.

Good food.

But I still like Moby Dick better.

The place is filled with Big nosed and fake nosed persians who sit there and pretend they have net worth - yet their cars are leased, their credit cards maxed and all they have left is their cosmetics.

Do you actually think there are guys who get fake noses in order to sit in a kabob restaurant and pose as rich arabs?

Trust me, the arabs in this area who drive expensive cars are not posing, they don't have rhinoplasty, and they probably go out in the desert back home every weekend and flip their range rovers trying to "drift" on some barely used stretch of highway.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_XtJ-lTyFE (hit mute, nobody wants to hear that "alaj muh heedaah, dee rah shee muh daa ibree ma hadaa duh lee muh shee daa" crap." but you've got to see the oil barons wrecking expensive cars)

Arabs are not Persians.

But to the original poster, no, Amoo's House of Kabob is not any good. It serves kabob.

Are you telling me that Iranians/Persians are not Arabs?

At a recent McCain rally, a woman even said Obama is Arab.
(watched this on CNN)

Now I'm officially confused.

If you enjoy having your food prepared by vile and smelly Arabs then it's the place for you.

That's what McCain is hoping. If you're confused enough, you might even vote for him ;)

are you guys serious! where is this question going. in this day and age how do you not know that Iranians or Persians as they prefer to call themselves are NOT ARABS! back to the main question; my friend, amoo's is excellent, the food is fresh and of high quality, just google it and check out the many good reviews. as for the few ignorant responders, put away your hate, hate comes from ignorance and ignorance is definitely not bliss!

I'll quote Patrick Robinson... "they're all towel-heads to me!"
(Robinson is an author from the UK)

The "Who has the best Kabobs" thread that periodically gets posted is an FFXU enigma.

Yes, it is. The man who started Amoo's Kabob started it as a complete experiment. He also owns Shamshiry in Tysons Corner. Very nice guy. But the owner has since sold the restaurant to someone else, and I've heard some complaints about it going downhill.

Incidentally, Amoo means Uncle. So the restaurant's name is "Uncle's kabob". Whose uncle I have no idea.

Also, Shamshir is a sword. Shamshiry is a sword place (no definition of what a sword place is or does).
