Animal Shelter Takes Rabies Clinic on the Road
Brings Low-Cost Service to Citizens in South County
The Fairfax County Animal Shelter will expand its services to host a low-cost rabies vaccination clinic for pets on Sunday, April 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Mount Vernon RECenter located at 2017 Belle View Blvd, Alexandria, Va. 22307.
The clinic marks the shelter’s return to the South County area to offer clinics routinely held only at the shelter.
The cost of the rabies vaccine is $10 per pet and vaccines will be provided for dogs, cats and ferrets. No rabies tags will be issued at the clinic; however, 2008 dog licenses will be sold at the clinic for an additional $5 for altered dogs or $10 for unaltered animals. Dogs must be on leashes and cats and ferrets must be in carriers.
The reduced-cost rabies clinic is sponsored by the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and Deepwood Veterinary Clinic.
