Yo where can I buy habaneros (and hot chillies) around this area?

Yeah I need to buy habaneros, not the sorry ass ones most people eat, I mean the real hot stuff. Preferably carribean red, red savina, scotch bonnet, or something around that level of heat. Unfortunately there's too many wussies around to find any decent chillies in the supermarket. NONE- I repeat, NONE of the hot sauces that claim to be habanero based are hot. They are watered down crap in a bottle, so I need some real chillies to make my own. Can anyone provide a decent hook up? Im guessing my best bet will probably be a carribean food store but I dont know where to find one here. Thanks

Fresh World at Tall Oaks in Reston has a lot of real ethnic food, though I don't know about pepper specifically.

I've seen habaneros at Wegmans. I went to a garden center and bought a habanero plant. After 2 months of watering and fertilizing...I now have *1* big habanero growing. One.

If I could just find some decent tex-mex....

Lotto (Fairfax Circle) and HMart (across from PVI) are primarily Korean, but they have a pretty extensive selection of vegetables and I would not be surprised if they have some of the hotter pepper varieties. The thing about peppers high on the Scoville scale like Red Savina and Scotch Bonnet is that they can be hazardous to handle and most stores really don't want to bother with the risk. Plus, you probably only sell a few per week, so inventory management is an issue.

Are you looking to add these to a recipe? I like spicy food, but the one time that I tried a dish which included a Scotch Bonnet I was in pain for a while. What do you plan on doing with these?

that farmer's market in burke, at the Burke VRE on saturday mornings, has a booth where the guy has a rockin' selection of chilis, and he had some really really nice habaneros. I consider myself kinda a pepper snob and hard to impress... grocery peppers tend to suck.
