You were clearly in the wrong. In fact your type of driving has caused accidents. I know exactly where you are talking about and have almost been hit by people in that second lane trying to go left. I drive that route regulary and in the far left lane, you can actually go straight down hillwood or turn left to get onto 50. When you are in the second lane, that is to go straight only. Perhaps a warning was in order, but the lane configurations are not as confusing as you claim.
