McCain, Palin to Va. on Wednesday

Republican running mates John McCain and Sarah Palin are heading to Virginia, campaigning in the battleground state one day after Democrat Barack Obama.

McCain, the presidential nominee, announced this morning that he and VP pick Palin will appear at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairfax High School in Fairfax.

McCain's Virginia co-chairman, Attorney General Bob McDonnell, said in a written statement, "Virginians are ecstatic to have the next president and vice president of the United States bring their message of reform and leadership to Virginia."

Palin, the Alaska governor, has a separate trip to the state planned for Sept. 18. She'll be in Virginia Beach.

It will be the Republican ticket's first appearance in Virginia since the GOP convention last week in St. Paul, Minn.

The visit will follow Obama's latest appearance in Virginia -- 4:30 p.m. tomorrow in Lebanon, in Southwest Virginia.

The back-to-back visits are another sign that Virginia, with 13 electoral votes, is up for grabs this year. The state hasn't tipped Democratic for president since 1964, when Lyndon B. Johnson narrowly won.

Under the rules of logic, saying Sarah supports pregnant teenagers does not imply Obama does not. Are you a product of the FCPS?

I am saying since Sarah supports and applauds her daughter's decision not to get an abortion, I think it would be nice for Sarah to have her smiling face photographed with all the pregnant teenagers at Fairfax High who made the same decision.

So, all you pregnant Fairfax High students, get together at the rally; hopefully, Sarah will come over and give you words of support, and I trust the press will be there to capture this magical moment.

I have to agree... I don't see anything in that quote that indicates Obama is calling for withdrawal of support for single or young mothers, nor do I see any new info on Palin's position on single or young mothers.

Ok, I see now... it was a joke. It was just hard to get. I thought it may have been an attempt at comedy and then he started talking about "logic"... then upon re-reading his post I became confused because having a post subject line that has nothing to do with the quoted text in the post isn't logical.

It reminded me of all the Star Trek episodes where Kirk destroys enemy computers by forcing them to process illogical concepts and they shut down. I guess that is okay for writing Sci-Fi scripts but I'm not sure what the purpose is for an Internetz forum.

FUNdamental has a severe hard on for Sarah Palin and her pregnant teenage daughter Bristol. I am guessing that it stems from the fact that one of his kids got knocked up, he is the product of a teenage pregnancy, or he knocked a chick up when he was a teenager. Whatever the reason, he has some serious obsessive thoughts about this whole situation. He probably should seek some help for himself and his alternate identity.

NPR has announced that the McCain campaign will not be holding a rally at the Fairfax high school "due to size accommodations." The event will instead be held at Van Dyck Park in Fairfax, 3730 Old Lee Hwy.

Wonder if they'll have a dedicated area for protesters...

The only size accommodations are the FAT ASS REPUBLICANS that need extra space to rest their thick ham hock-like thighs!

Amazing...an outdoor event with NO seating and NO parking! What kind of cluster is traffic going to be in and around Fairfax City tomorrow morning? You are going to need a helicopter to get the next POTUS and VPOTUS in and out of there. I wonder if Colonel Rohrer will allow them to use Fairfax 1?

I am bringing my sons and daughters to meet Sarah Palin!

She is such a fine example for them!

She went to college and made a better life for herself but the best she can do for her kids is send one off to Iraq to get blown to bits and have the other one knocked up at age 17!!

Of course she hasn't been to any of her kids' games in years and certainly has never driven a kid to a game or event-but by golly she's a hockey mom. Just like the rest of us.

Oh, and Todd, the First Dude, picks up the slack at home rearing the kids. Even though he stays on The North Slope 2 weeks straight every month, he is quite involved in the child care! So what if he is 700 miles away-they can call him, can't they?

Thos kids are blessed to have such caring, involved parents. I hope they write a book on parenting so the rest of us can learn a thing or two.
