Get the fuck off my property!

I live in a private development in Fairfax. We have a sign at the front entrance of our development stating that solicitors are not allowed.

I had my front door open and my glass screen door locked.


A young women rang my bell. I asked her did she live in my development. (I did not open the door) She said no. I told her she was not allowed on my property. She left. In the last two weeks the police have been out on possible break ins. Should I have called the police?

You should challenge anyone coming to your door to sell you something. Ask to see their peddlers license. If they don't have one call the cops. Don't accept "my boss has it". County law requires it. No license? Goodbye.

You should have asked her what her business was at your property. I get several unsolicited people come to my door every six months trying to sell everything from Cable (FiOS) to home insulations to anything you can think of. I even once had Church people come to my door and give out pamphlets and Bibles. I listen to them, and politely them i am not interested.

I live on 5 acres. Anyone could try and kill me and nobody would hear a thing. Women need to be extra cautious.
