Help! I need a good dentist recommendation.

Could you kind people please recommend a good dentist in the Fairfax, Springfield, Burke area? Preferably one who accepts GEHA Federal Dental Insurance. Also, name dentists you don't recommend.

Whatever you do do not go to Jamie Park in Fairfax. Terrible terrible terrible place, she will rip you off and make you feel like you are doing business with a used car dealer. Terrible!!!!

I would suggest Dr. Alex Osinovsky in the Tyson's area. He really keeps up with technology and is really sharp. The other one is Dr. Stephen Rosenblum in Springfield, smaller office but doesn't jump to do crowns and expensive stuff when a simpler method would do.

I am very happy with Premier Dental Care in Reston, Small practice staff is great check out website or call 703-860-8860 I never had a complaint about this practice.

Seven Corners Dental(703) 538-4630. Father and daughter team. Excellent work, good prices, open 7 days a week.

Avoid West Falls Church Dental-part of the Neibauer Dental organization, sell, sell, sell, and a lot of it is work you do not need.

I work in the dental field. Any good dentist will not take GEHA insurance. Sorry to say your dental insurance is crap.

Also in the local industry.

Agree with mentioned above, GEHA is not a good insurance and a provider accepting it has likely had a strike or two on his or her license. Make sure you check with the public records for this prior to calling for an appointment.

Aetna has an access card you can purchase online which will give you reduced rates on Aetna providers, although it'll take a couple days for you to get the card. Aetna providers are generally of higher quality.

I too work in the dental field. The best dental insurance is a plan where you can pick your own dentist. These are fee for service plans.

Watch out for the PPO or HMO plans.

You get what you pay for with dental and health insurance. You only have one set of adult teeth. If you are smart you will take care of teeth.

Samuel Hamm - off route 50 in Fairfax City (or maybe just beyond). not sure about the costs because insurance pays, so whatever. but they do a good job. I think they are a PPO place....

USAF brat, her father was a fighter pilot. She and her H graduated from Lake Braddock HS. Her DDS is from UAB. Family and cosmetic dentist with an excellent paraprofessional support staff.

Sympatica and very competent. Too bad she's happily married.

Frank Delatour in Fairfax, though I do not know if he accepts that insurance. His office is on the ground floor of the Fairfax Medical Arts Building on 236 just east of Roberts Road.

It's located right across from the leasing office to Camden Monument Apartments.

The staff is all pretty top notch (attentive, super corteous, as if they actually enjoy being there!) The hygienists are friendly and calm, and they never have roughed up my mouth or done anything I'd consider incompetent (like banging their tools on my teeth). Plus, all the staff is pretty fucking good looking. Major win.


TV's to watch if you want during work. Impeccably clean office and work areas. Very comfortable, almost massage-like, chairs.


And they have hot staff!!

I like Dr. Robert Moffitt. He's in Lorton. I've had a lot done there and he takes good care of you and his assistants are good. The front desk is also very friendly.

Dr Aaron Mulgrew in Reston, he's a proctologist by day and moonlights as a dentist at night, just make sure that he changes his gloves before he examines you.

There was one in Centreville a few years ago that literally pulled all 3 wisdom teeth at once when I only needed one pulled (the worse one a few years before that was done at another dentist in Arlington)...he pulled my 3 wisdom and didn't even give me a prescription for percocet even though one was growing in SIDEWAYS and I was in PAIN- told me to take tylenol and put ice on it. I cried for a week before the pain finally went away because taking too much tylenol gave me an upset stomach too. Nope, never again.

Sounds like almost everyone is happy with whichever dentist they currently go to. This despite the fact that virtually no one outside the profession has any clue at all about what competent dentistry would actually be. This would suggest that most dentists are friendly and competent enough and that they hire pleasant, happy, friendly individuals to serve as their office staff. The plan in that case would be to pick a conveniently located practitioner from Checkbook or some other such source, make your next appointment with them (assuming they take new patients), and see how things go. Chances are very good that you will like whoever it is and your search will be over. But even if not, you can just repeat the process for your next exam. i had a dental emergency a while back - none of the doctors in fx co gave a fuck - i could have died one said (one that made me wait a week!)

i had an asian lady scratch the fuck out of my teeth with a pick - i probalby still have the scratch marks even after a few polishings. i don't think she likes white people. said i might need root canal $2000 probably.

recently: i had one charge me for a filling that fell out in 3 days. did not bother cleaning the area before applying - had suspiciously young spic couple. got a radiation burn i believe - the spics were operating (the machine).

then i had a indian/hindu doctor that does work for fx co employees (i'm not one). they cheated me on a radiation scan said it was "leagally required" but lied didn't use the scan i had just had from another office.

the he said i needed root canal(s) done. refused to do a filling or anything else demanded i do what he said and refused to discuss.

and while maybe my ganglia is "a bit wrong" - years later the tooth is healthier than it ever was. without their help



my personal record is (a surgeory as a minor aside): most all medical in fx has near killed me a few times cheated me poisoned me but really not once "saved the day". the exclusions from that is like just one (and gp that never actually did anything but advise)

i'm about terrified to get medical - the bill they'd evict and kill you over - and the service ? an asian or arab who'd like you dead and was told by their CEO to "keep costs down"

please. step back if i need to use the lab. i'll do it my fucking self.
