Who is Worse off for Restaurants - Burke or Centreville?

OK, everyone. This thread is to discuss who has it worst for restaurant selections -- Burke or Centreville. Residents know that both of these locations are absolute dining wastelands, but which area is truly worse.

I mean, in Centreville, with so many Asians, wouldn't you think there would be some places that were above grade C? I think Sino's in Centreville might be the best Asian Food and that is just sad. Also, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't even think there is a Thai Restaurant in Centreville. The best places, and this is painful to say, but I believe to be Sweetwater and BoneFish near the Theatre. There is AltoPlaza, eh, whatever.

Moving onto Burke (specifically Burke Centre)

Garbage? Yes. Seriously -- where is there to eat in Burke? Because I am drawing blanks. San Vito (Italian) in that one shopping Centre seriously comes to mind as one the better places. Glory Days (gross), Hoppsfrog (vomit in my mouth). They do have a Thai place but I have not been there yet.

Residents from Centreville and Burke, chime in and tell why your area sucks more for dining....

Burke isn't that bad where food is concerned. Tau Tau and Shiro are pretty decent, and considering who you ask, Spartans is very good. Anyway, Hopsfrog is more of a bar than a restaurant, and so is Glory Days, making the food their last priority! Honestly, my biggest complaint about Glory Days is all the trashy people they hire. Villa Bella on Burke Center Parkway is great.

I don't think I've ever eaten in C-ville.

Maybe you should just stay home and cook yourself a big, piping hot bowl of STFU!

Give Villa Bella in Burke a try. It's not fabulous, but it's a pretty nice little Italian family restaurant. Moderate prices, decent food.

Cedar Cafe in the Shoppers Plaza (Burke) has great Lebanese food. The only bad part is that it is a very small with a few tables. Great food though.

Centreville Food.

Sweetwater - Good
Bonefish - terrible.
Manginos Pizza - great gourmet pizza
Rosemarys Thyme Bistro - incredible.
Willards BBQ - Some of the best around. (i think Chantilly claims this one though)
Cant forget Paynes Diner for breakfast.

So wan gal-be for decent clean Korean food.
Sushi sashimi for fairly good sushi.
Charlie Changs, best delivery chinease, that is with no msg.
Rosemarys Deli off of Stone, everythings GREAT for the price if the older guy is cooking, the older woman sucks.

For burk, everything Ive had sucks, but i dont live close to it so, i dont really know.

however there is an AMAZING Afghan restraunt in the same shopping center as JAXX.

I really used to like Villa Bella, but it has really gone down hill over the past year or so. We do a lot of carryout and the order is wrong 50% of the time. The last time I went back to complain the manager tried to throw me out explaining that it was my fault that I left with the wrong items.

Centreville! I drive down to Burke quite often since I moved 'cause the food options up here are terrible. I love Tau Tau's food and there is nothing remotely close to it's deliciousness in Centreville.

Funny enough Manginos started in a Cheveron Gas Station in Montgomery County back when I was in high school. Opened up in Burke when I moved there. Then opened in Centreville a few years later. Awesome pizza and subs!

Try the new Celadon Thai place in the "Whole Foods" plaza in Burke. Just opened 3 weeks ago. EXCELLENT!! The main chef was an executive chef at the Ritz Carlton before he opened this place. Everything about the place is first class---the food has complex flavors and the presentation is beautiful. Price is right. It's going to have waiting lines very soon so go now.

Also there is a new Panera on Rolling Road close to WSHS (opened a few months ago). The Burke area is getting better as far as restaurants go. I would predict that this trend will continue since the Geospatial Intelligence Center down Rolling Road is about to open later this year.

We make a special trip to Sweetwater Tavern from time to time. Food is perfect every time.

Also love Ciro's pizza (can't eat anymore because of trying to lose weight).

I was so disappointed with Alto Plaza. Served up 100% inedible food the second (and last) time we were there. Ordered a burrito with beans instead of meat (since I'm vegetarian) - they brought out this contraption that was about 6 cups of pure cheese rolled in a flour tortilla drenched in oil. WTF? Is there no imagination whatsoever in the kitchen? I'll not be back.

There's not much else in Centreville that causes me to drive in from the Gainesville area. We used to live in Centreville but usually drove toward Fairfax for dining out.

It's on Burke Lake Rd, but it's listed as a Springfield, Va restaurant--the Hunan West is--not good.

Hunan West isn't good, but I enjoy Hunan East in Burke Town Plaza at OKM / Lee Chapel.

whoever started this thread is fucking stupid. There are close to 100 places to eat in centreville, from gdays, sweetwater, bonefish and other chains to good pizza and a million other options, including all types of cultural food. Burke has about 4 places to eat, so what is there to ponder?
