Construction near GMU Fieldhouse - wutup?

Drove by the GMU fieldhouse today and I noticed a ton of construction. Trees were removed behind the hill, near the outdoor track. Any idea what's going on?

As a side note: That hill is infamous. Apparently Skins players in 1982 and 1987 would go there to practice during the respective strikes. Many point to the unauthorized practices at Mason as the reason why they were able to maintain such a competitive advantage over other teams.

They're building a new road to connect both the campus on both sides of 123, and it will go under 123 between University and Braddock.

I really liked that woods between the PE building and the lot to the north (now developed). That was really the only untouched piece of woods left on Patriot Circle. I wish they would just stop building and cap enrollment.

They've cut down over 1,000 mature trees to expand their Green Training indoctrination program and teach the young how to preserve natural settings.

That ain't gonna happen. GMU is looking to be as big as THE Ohio State or Arizona State.

I heard it is luxury housing for those on welfare. Being on campus it will teach students you do not have to work to live in a nice crib.

I think it's great that there's no topic on this board that the right wing jackasses won't turn into something political.

First, it's going to make the commute on 123 easier and faster, so suck a dick. Second, suck a dick.

Why isn't it the reverse with 123 going underground? Could have had some nice greenery for the Groper to hide in. Dummies.

In related news GMU Professor Steven Fuller backed off his prediction that the new road would create 1000 jobs stating he is a bulshit artist and there actually is no road.
