Northern Virginia community college

Why are they so many Indians, Arabs, West Africans ? attend Northern Virginia community college? They are not many cute white girls at this school.m Most of the girls that attend Nova are not even good looking. Most white girls at Nova are over weight and ugly. Right now I am taking classes at Woodbridge because is closer to my house which in Route 1 in Alexandria. What Nova Campus has the best looking girls? I graduated from Mount Vernon High classof 2012. I wish I could date a Latina girl but they are way too racist. They won't date a funny white guy. What campus do the good looking girls attend?

Look at the first line of your post and you're saying latina girls are way too racist? If you want to see hot girls on a college campus, how about attending a REAL college? Maybe you shouldn't have fucked around in high school, ever think about that?

NOVA is the 13th grade son.

Hot white sluts go to UVA, JMU, Sweet Briar etc. Those are what's known as real colleges.

That's a novel excuse for failing. Maybe you should have been studying instead of fucking her. College isnt a game. Maybe that's why youre in the 13th grade at NOVA

Just an FYI, the general education courses are the same at ANY college, the only difference is price. So, English 101 can iether be $750/credit hour or $4,000/credit hour. The SMARTEST choice is taking your general eds at NOVA and then transferring into a higher end school to finish the degree and save a fuck ton of money.

You are 100% correct. Only idiots who want to drown in student loan debt pay retail for a 101 level course. Spend two years at NOVA and transfer to your "real college". My wife transferred into GMU as a junior after spending the first two years at NOVA. She was able to pay CASH for those years.

That is very true. Take CLEP. It is even cheaper for the basics than NOVA.

Oddly, CLEP is easier to transfer than NOVA. Many colleges already describe what tests they will accept and how much credit they will grant. There's no telling if they'll transfer a NOVA class.

Not true.

General Education classes (or any classes for that matter) are not the same across the board, at all.

If you take any classes (general education included) with a bunch of over-achievers vs. low level achievers, you are going to have to work harder to get higher grades, or work harder to pass, than if you are sitting in a class full of people who barely made it out of high-school, and did not make it into a full time college the first time around.

I know. I've done both. And believe me, there is a difference between the two.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking any college or any person who wants to learn, but there is a difference between entry level at a high level college vs. entry level at a low level college.

There must be, as the student is different. If you are taking accounting 101 with somebody who barely passed high school, vs. accounting 101 with somebody who aced 4 years of high school, the latter is going to be harder. The smarter student's starting point is different, they pick things up quicker, they have better study habits, are more motivated, etc.

Again, that doesn't mean you can't learn under both scenarios, but no, they are not the same.

My goal was to get credits and graduate. Actually gaining knowledge through education was secondary at best.

@no sir - i dunno what yr experience was...........but with NOVA, it's not the same. Lotsa teachers from local universities moonlight at the NOVA campuses for extra dough and more likely than not, the teacher you have is also teaching the same course at GMU, American, Catholic, etc.

p.s. yr logic is faulty. you can ace high school and still be a fucking moron. And there are DEFINATELY ppl out there who sucked gradewise in high school who could maybe teach us a thing or two LoLz

If you're looking for a hot chick student population, yor're in the wrong part of the country. Go south to GA or AL.

This area was never known for having a lot of hot chicks.

Gordo, my logic is not flawed.

I know from first hand experience, by the way. I've taken courses at NoVa, and elsewhere. I have an undergraduate degree.

But back to the logic part...in any endeavor...if you are in a more competitive environment, you have to perform better to keep up.

If you are playing golf with a bunch of low handicappers, you need to perform better to keep up. If you are running cross country with the best in the state vs. people who run as a hobby, which do you think would be harder?

Sure, the same teacher may be teaching the same course, but that is like saying, if the same cross country coach is coaching both the champs and the chumps, you can perform the same in both environments and expect the same results relative to the other competitors.

No sir.

If a college is more selective, it is more competitive. Thus, you have to perform better to keep up at a more selective college. The students are better.

How is that hard to believe?

you also need the skills to keep up. i'm not going to win one game against roger federer. he's practiced hours a day for years. i haven't. getting good grades is a skill that's learned over a long period of time, just like anything else. it's not about smarts (in most cases). very few nova kids are suddenly going to perform at uva levels, just like i'm not winning any games against federer.

In order to succeed at a community college, you have to know how to succeed before you even start. This means you need to find good advice and follow it. Meet with your academic advisor.

Doesn't matter where you went to school anymore. I went to Virginia way back in the 80's. Top 5% of my class. Sure, I make 1/2 a stick a year and manage people who manage people who manage people. But most of the resumes that cross my desk for approval are from Indian green card holders who went to some university I have never heard of in Pune or Hyderabad or Mumbai. And they are all top-notch engineers and developers. So it doesn't matter where you go. Your job is going to go to somebody who has a degree from some Indian university who will work for half the price your entitled ass demands.
