FCPD Will Have Extra Patrols for St. Patrick's Day Weekend

In preparation for residents celebrating St. Patrick's Day, Fairfax County police plan to include additional patrol units throughout the weekend for safety purposes, said Public Information Officer Lucy Caldwell.

As a precaution, FCPD also has a sobriety checkpoint scheduled in the West Springfield Police District, which covers part of Annandale. Caldwell said FCPD is urging motorists to designate a non-drinking driver if they plan to consume alcoholic beverages this weekend.

Motorists are asked to call 9-1-1 if they witness an impaired driver on the roads and provide dispatch with an exact location and the direction of travel to better assist FCPD.

They can't get everybody. It's simply a matter of numbers.

I remember a couple of years ago they tried to arrest everybody leaving Kate's in Springfield. Complete FAIL!

Good luck trying to get everybody leaving Shamrockfest. That's like 4000 people.
