Didn't the county sue or heavily fine Krispy Kreme for ruining sewage pipes or something? Something about the oil Krispy Kreme had to dispose of ruined county pipes or clogged drains. It was all over the news 5-10 years ago. How the linked damage to KK was /is questionable.

My giant hasn't carried fresh KK in years, ever since this happened.

I'm with you, Doughnut, Dunking Donuts doesn't cut it. Whoever likes them hasn't had a good doughnut before. I'm baffled DD seems to do so well here.

Krispy Kreme went public a while back. Their strid was just hitting and the entire country was falling in love with our vibe with Krispy Kreme, the hot doughnuts, etc.

and then Atkins and South Beach craze came along. literally like the next month after they went public.

they've rebounded since Atkins died..........but that's kinda why their rights cost you lotsa $$$$$$ and why you dont see them on ever corner like Boston "Chicken" did and 5 guys does now (gotta admit.............didnt see that one coming LoLz) - they are kinda scared of going in the toilet like they almost did when no-carb craze hit and dont want to over-marketize themselves

Wasn't it near Furnace Road.....I remember something about the glazing ingredients ruining the pipes.

Something about that didn't make sense, the factory had been in Fairfax for 42 years.....but only in the mid-2000s did the grease affect the sewage system.

Western Fairfax county is a donut wasteland.

Dunkin Donuts pretty much has a monopoly. Their donuts are average AT BEST and all their stores are too small and poorly designed. I'm not a huge fan of KK either but some competition is sorely needed.

I really wish we had small independent donut shops like they have in other parts of the state, but this is Northern VA where only huge mega chains can be successful (apparently).

Dunkin Donuts has good coffee though. Nice alternative to Starbucks.

We go with Shoppers over DD. Get much more for the money and they don't taste like rubber like DD's. Still, a KK somewhere west of I95 would be nice.

There used to be a wonderful, old fashioned donut shop at the corner of Beulah road and 123; it has been gone for ages now but when I was a teenager, my brother used to take me there after an afternoon of hard yard work (back then, teenagers used to do yard work like picking weeds and mowing the grass LOL). They had a wonderful selection and a counter where you could sit in addition to a few tables.

I have not had a good donut in a long time. I like Krispy Kreme, too, and my dad used to go to their shop to pick up donuts for the Saturday swim meets for the snack bar. Those donuts were wonderful.
