11 whole traffic fatalities in fairfax county

WOW

and the best part is, at least 25% of adults in fairfax county drink and drive on fri. sat. nights

the cops in this county fucking suck, they do nothing but pull over, harass, fine, and arrest their own citizens who give them paychecks

Yep, they do harrass. But the fatalities are down by 22. Maybe they have actually saved your life by getting some drunk off the road that otherwise could have taken you out.

""and the best part is, at least 25% of adults in fairfax county drink and drive on fri. sat. nights""

that sounds like one of the BS statitics from MADD. if that is the truth how come when the county police do a DWI checkpoint like the one that was a few weekends ago at rt50 and annandale road only 2 DWIs where found after 637 motorist were stopped???

i am in favor of these checkpoints but please lets not fall victim to MADD. MADD is a militant organization. if MADD had their way you would only be able to consume alcohol in your own house and then you wouldnt be able to leave.

the problem with MADD is that it is not guided by rational principles. it is guided by the victims of drunk driving. this is the exact reason why we do not let the family members of other victims (read rape, murder, etc) get deeply involved in the court proceedings. it is handled by professionals who are not involved emotionally.

i dont understand why you cant go buy a bottle of liquor to drink in your own home after 9pm, but you can go drink it at a bar until 2am. that doesnt make any sense to me from a 'keep people from driving drunk' perspective.

im very against drunk driving, and very against DUI checkpoints. those things are bullshit, barely constitutional, totally uneffective, and a huge waste of money.

I think if you werent smart enough to get an alternative transportation after a night of drinking then get some fast food in you as carbs in bread absorve alcohol and just wait it out in your car. Chances are you will fall asleep.

two people i know who went through a checkpoint recently (within the last 1-2 months) had been drinking and got through.. hell, one of them had a beer in the cup holder (which is low and hard to see, but still)...

25% might be accurate.. just doesn't mean that they are all drunk as shit... just have been drinking..

most people do. i just dont understand why you can consume alcohol at a bar much later than you can purchase alcohol to take home.
