I used to sell door-to-door in Fairfax County
Posted by: Door-to-Door ()
Date: March 08, 2013 02:57PM

I have some pretty big insight into each of the areas of Fairfax County. I used to go door-to-door knocking on doors in every part of Fairfax, from Manassass to Arlington, from Leesburg to Dale City.

I know the attitudes and the demographics like the back of my hand. I experienced them all up close and personal.

Is there anyone out there who would come to my house and give me an estimate for a new roof, or windows, or siding, or gutters? A free estimate that is. And require that my wife is there too? It's important to me that she help make any buying decision.

Also, I'd like to find someone who will sell me firewood by the rack instead of by the cord. Has to be real hardwood with some pine needles mixed in.

I would also appreciate if a truck with frozen meat would park in my driveway and offer me a great deal.

And sometimes I get lonely and would hope that a couple of nicely dressed young men would stop by to pray about some tablets that were found in New York, then lost.

Then in October, I need someone to drop some campaign literature in my door to help me decide who to vote for.

Can you help with any of these?

Once there was a white guy in his late forties in Annandale (of all places) who slammed the door on me and my supervisors face while we were going door-to-door. He was probably recently divorced and lonely. My supervisor says to him "Dude that was TOTALLY uncalled for".

The door swung back open.

"FUCK OFF", said the Annandale divorced forties white loser, "FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF. FUCK OFF." He literally screamed it between 10-20 times.

My supervisor continued to troll him saying stuff like: "Who lives this angry? Go make a friend!"

Then the divorced Annandale homeowner slammed the door and went back inside.

You say; "I have some pretty big insight into each of the areas of Fairfax County." You say; "I know the attitudes and the demographics like the back of my hand."

Okay, so are you going to share or not? The story above offers no insight whatsoever.

We had two episodes in Fairfax Station the two times I worked there. Which was real strange because we hardly EVER worked there. It's a strange area with no retail strip malls and no main roads.

Anyway me and my co-worker went to a very new subdivision in Fairfax Station, gated community built in the 90s. It had a no soliciting sign, but we ignored it. He was about to sign up a woman, had all her information and everything. Then her yuppie husband (who worked from home) came charging out the door and tackled my co-worker off the stoop screaming: "This is NO SOLICITING AREA!!! I'M CALLING THE COPS NOWWWWWWW!!!!!"

My co-worker says: "Sir, I'm gonna be the bigger man and walk away. It's too bad that you interrupted the pleasant conversation I was having with your wife. I'm going to let you go now because I don't want your wife to deal with a husband in jail for assaulting me"

The second episode I had in Fairfax Station was down in the area by Lorton and Springfield. I saw a house, obviously owned by an Asian from the buddha statues and pond full of carp outside the house. I knocked on his door, and he answered pretending not to speak English well.

Because we had generated no business that day, I continued aggressively solicting him. He was wearing a wife-beater and a gold chain with buddha on it. I started signing him up, and suddenly he spoke English perfectly.

"WHY YOU WAN MY NAME", he screamed, "THIS IS NO SORICITING NAILBOHOOD! I AM CARRING PORICE LIGHT NOW! LIGHT NOW I AM CARRING PORICE!" He chased me off his front stoop screaming, and picked up his phone. Me and the co-workers got in the car and bailed.

To answer the other questions:

Don't know anything about Cobbdale... I assume just old white people that were very nice and easy to sign up.

Kings Park West is town homes. So it would either be Hispanics and Vietnamese that we couldn't communicate with or white people who would come to the door and say "Sorry man. We rent."

First I will ask to see your solicitors permit and if it doesn't appear
to be real I will call the cops asap. If it is real (and current) I will
tell you to leave my property and don't come back because I don't buy
ANYTHING unsolicited.

Yeah that's pretty much what they acted like. Not Kings West Park people, but def Arlington and Falls Church. And new areas. First world problems. So entitled. It was disgusting. And these people always had Obama signs too.

The Fairfax people didn't bug me too much, as many of them were just families trying to raise kids. I did NOT like Arlingtonians in their early 30s who never got around to having kids, and tried to extend their college douchery and blend it with professional smugness.

The husband wouldn't have been arrested for assault. Instead, you and your co-worker would have been arrested for trespassing on the man's property. Good thing you didn't call the cops

What we all really want to know is if you ever had any hot MILFs answer the door in a towel, and then let you nail them.

Did that ever happen?

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it didn't.

Only one person pulled a gun on me. An obese Ron Paul supporter. In Annandale. He had an Asian wife who could barely speak English.

You said you didn't know anything about Cobbdale. If you did, you'd have
noticed all the foreign home owners. Some have ties to Al Quaeda, others
to Asian crime gangs. They all have lots of money and won't do business
with anyone they're not connected to. Fuck Arlington. All they care about
are fags and illegal immigrants. Jim Moran is a drunken mess. That's why
he always gets re-elected.

Oh, and you remodeling sales idiots...

If you paid attention, you would have noticed that I already have new siding, new windows and a new roof.

I would never do business with a remodeling company that is so desperate for business that they have to hire losers to walk door to door bothering people to make business.

I had my work done by someone that scheduled me a few months out. Busy contractors are busy for a reason. Desperate contractors are that way for a reason.
