What he posted was an end to the take home cars for people living over 30 miles away and I agree with him. If someone is so damn important they need a take home car then they should be close enough to where they are needed. I seriously doubt a fire is going to wait until some desk commander wakes up and drives a hundred miles to Fairfax. At the very least if these guys want a take home car then pay for the gas, a fair deal I would say.

That I completely agree with--the ones with the take home vehicles are the ones pulling in the higher salaries, thus are more able to have the means to live in the community that employs them. The take home car thing has been an issue for a while now, clearly the out-going chief will let Bowers deal with it--if he feels like it needs to be dealt with--which many agree that it does!
