My kid is elementary school...what private schools should I be looking at. We are thinking Landon, St. Alban's and Sidwell, but what do you guys think. Do you guys think we should just wait until high school and have him go to Gonzaga, it will be cheaper, that's for sure.

Considering the use of the names of two prominent liberal economists, I'm assuming you are both the same person and are offended by my bashing Milton Friedman earlier.

Austrian School....can't get much more right wing than that. But seriously, all anyone ever talks about here are crappy public schools. As a product of a DC private school, it would be nice to hear something about them as well

Potomac school. If you get him when he's young then he can stay through high school. It's very hard to get in if you wait until high school. But Gonzaga is good too, if your child is in a good elementary school. Other than Potomac for elementary school, I'd go with St.Albans, Flint Hill, Edlin or little Langley.

Flint Hill blows. stick with the DC schools, they are the best

I think his parent should learn what a question mark is, and how to use one correctly in a sentence.

The high price of private schools isn't worth it. They won't make you kid any smarter. If they "have the goods" to get into a good college it won't matter where they go to high school. Save your money for college instead.

Although public, Dogwood ES in Reston is wonderful!

DOG- I know Dogwood. I went to Reston schools too. Although it gets a lot of flack around here, I graduated from South Lakes and still somehow managed to get into an Ivy League school.

Reading the Sidwell Friends application you fill out for your son would certainly be entertaining! Please tell us someone else helps your son with his homework.

hmmm does your kid even want to go to private school? how about you let him/her make a decision. if you think they are smart enough to excel in private school they are smart enough to make their own goddamn decision.

Hasn't Dogwood had some problems passing the SOLs?
