Where can I go to be alone?

It seems that there are swarms of people wherever I go around here. Even the hiking trails in Shenandoah are crowded.

Is there anywhere in the county that I can just go to be by myself? Without trespassing or breaking any laws...

In FFx? I doubt it. even small patches of woods have residents. Just look
for the Corona bottles. I would suggest going to one of the Wildlife
Management Areas. I like the G. R. Thompson in Markham off I-66. You will
find people fishing around Lake Thompson, but other than that, not many
people at all. These WMA's are public hunting areas during the regular
scheduled seasons, but in the off-season, are visited by very few. There are
very nice trails and its definitely wilderness. No restrooms or concessions,
and cell phones do not work. It only takes about 40 minutes down I-66 to
get there. Warning! Take plenty of bug spray this time of year.

Try Prince William Forest. There will probably be people there, but not as many as you would see in FFX.

Mason Neck State Park has some good (short) trails. I usually go hiking around there in early spring, and it's usually devoid of people, but I'm not sure if it's that empty during the summer.

Also, Sugarloaf Mountain in MD can be a good place. The trails near the overlooks get crowds, but if you hike the Northern Peaks trail, it's pretty desolate. We hiked it one time without encountering a soul for the entire 5-6 miles.

Try the room reserved for all the women willing to have sex with Inkahootz.

Nobody should be there.

Appalachian trail intersects I-66 in the next county over, so not really Fairfax, but if you're willing to drive an hour...

You will occasionally run into other hikers, depending on the season. Probably better off in a national forest...

By "skirts" are you saying "chicks?"

FUNdamental is married with two kids. Slinky is single, by his own admission never gets past a second date, and doesn't go for "quality women."

Let me ask you a question, Blinky, if you had a chick, I know it's a stretch but work with me, and that chick wanted you to take her to Riverdance on a date, and would possibly have sex with you afterward, what would you say?

I'm there,
or
No way!

How long is the list of things you wouldn't take a chick to even if she wanted to go? Perhaps you need to re-evaluate you dating criteria.

(or lack of dating criteria).

No, I meant 'skirts', literally, as in the one's you stole from the teenage girls in Riverdance and The Washington Post you incessantly post about. I think it is rather creepy that you have kids and post pics of teenage girls on this site and then constantly lambast the Post everytime they have an article about teenage girls. Is it an obssession or a compulsion? They have counseling and medicative alternatives nowadays; you don't have to worry about electro shock therapy anymore, FUNdemented!

My point is the Post is going down hill. They should not be publishing pictures of teenagers shopping, and listing the cities they live in, or writing pieces about white Fairfax teens whining about everything from the price of gas, getting kicked out of TJ even though he got A's in Driver's ed and gym, to buying $80.00 bathing suits. I guess the WP is trying to get HSers to read the paper by filing these pieces, but the bottom line is the Post makes most of these teens appear to be shallow spoiled brats.

Now, on this message board there are a lot of commentaries on FCPS, dating teachers, fake ID's, HS football games, etc. I believe my commentaries on WP features allow others to see the articles in a perspective other than a Fairfax high school point of view

Huntley Meadows is a good place to get a little peace and quiet. While there are always people wandering the park, there's an unofficial trail that follows the water. At the end of the trail is a little open area alond the creek (Douge Creek by that point I think) and you're likely to see ducks, turtles, hawks and so on. If you're looking for something a little more off the beaten path, as you're walking in on the entrance trail, take a right and wander to your heart's content. You'll eventually end up on Telegraph. Not sure about the park's policy on wandering off the trails ( if any), but it was fun when I did it. Plenty of deer for photos if you're into that.

Try Huntley Meadows Park off of telegraph Road...1,200 + acres of trails, no athletic fields or picnics! Also trey Mason Neck State Park off of Route 1. Both of these are usually not overcrowded.

Why don't you just do something at night, when most people are asleep?
