Hahaha, I was a Stuart kid, but I hung out with Falls Church kids because I worked with them at Ponderosa Steakhouse.

Also to Uncle Phucker:

Oh man! I remember the first time I saw Smash Records. It was brand new and my friend and I stumbled on it on our way to Poseurs. Man, were we in Heaven! Loved that place, and the owner, Bobby even let me interview him for a business class at NOVA.

Smash was cool back then, best nearby place to get local hardcore tapes and records by far. Used to hang out getting trashed around gtown and down at the old abandoned factory by the canal. Good times back then. Gave eagle liquors alot of cash too...cops would usually be cool as we didn't harass any one, if they busted us it was ok, chuck yer bowl in the canal and dump your beer, fuck off somewhere else. No tickets or arrests or any b.s.like that. Homeless dudes would hang out, buy beer for us (for a share)...got my first lay down there with a local punker chick by the river while Government Issue played on a boombox...good times

There was a WETA Documentary on the history of the Bayou last year. They mentioned Billy Joel, The Runaways, Foreigner, and U-2 playing there. No mention of a surprise set by the Rolling Stones. You think they would have mentioned that, if it happened. Sorry, it didn't happen.

Yeah, Kevin dated my sister before he killed that girl. On his "tour" I saw him at Radford University. He looked like a dear in headlights. Still, it was hard to feel sorry for him. Today, he'd probably still be in jail. Does anyone know him now? Was he really at Kilroys? Is he an alcoholic? Does he work?

Nobody bodder me!! Jhoon Rhea Karate!!! I went to Elementary School with his kids in Arlington and Jhoon Rhea lived over of of Nelly Custis Drive and Military Road.

Aaahhh SupeTV, yes I bought a kit that you mounted on the back of a standard coffee can and had a PVC pipe enclosure and a Yagi antenna with a threaded rod and washers. Mounted that at my parents house and watched SuperTV for years because my parents refused to pay of cable TV, my mom is 84 still in the same house and still has never subscribed to cable TV!!

Also remember cruising Burger King in Falls Church and Loemann's Plaza.

Ichabads pasty bar at 7 Corners and Roy Rogers!

Because it did happen and didn't happen at the same time. The site was booked, tickets were sold, and the band was set to play there. Because one of the members of the band had a felony conviction across the pond (I am remembering he stole a car...maybe???), his Visa approval was held up, and several of the band's dates were cancelled due to the State Departments hold and investigate.

Coke in the tall, green glass, returnable bottles.

The Nike missle silo's on Pope's head road.

Pig n Chic redneck bar/resturant on route 29 that often had special's on steamed Maryland blue crabs.

Playtime Arcade.

Bombay Bicycle Club-Very weird assed bar.

Levi's denim jackets with the white fluffy lining.

Down vest's.

Sony cassette Walkman's. At the time in the early 80's this was like the coolest, high tech thing ever.

Tattoo's were much less common. Mostly Biker's, criminal, convicts and rock stars had them. Back then no one would hire you if had neck or face tattoo's.

Bic lighters still had the little wheel to adjust the flame height.

Shakey's pizza- Good pizza and I will never forget slamming pitchers of beer at 17 and those chilled icy frozen beer mugs.

The Rolling Stones never played the Bayou. One night, when the Stones were in town, as a stunt, a Sunday night Bayou house band put on the Marquee "tonight Wild Horses," as a stunt, and over 600 people showed up.

The two alternating Sunday night house bands were comparing ticket sales and competed with each other over who had higher ticket sales week to week. The house band Face Dancer put "Wild Horses" on the Marquee (from a Stones song) to bring more people in on their Sunday night. When several hundred people showed up, and there was a long line to get in, (on a Sunday night) but the Stones never showed up, it made the TV News. That's where the legend of the Stones at the Bayou germinated.
