SHOCKING MARK DYCIO REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!



Hello, Fairfax Arlington and beautiful Northern Virginia. About 6 months ago in Augest of 2012 my Partners and I hired Mark Dycio based on advice of a fellow restaurant owner. When doing my due diligence I found this site and his reviews. I almost didn't want to hire him. THANK GOD I DID!!!!!!

First thing Mark did is stop us from buying a shell(empty) corporation for almost half a million dollars. Thinking it was a fully established restaurant with assets.

Second thing he did is write us custom contracts for buying one restaurant from an entire chain.(HEADACHE)

Third thing he did is Write all of our operational Agreements between all of the partners making life easier.

Fourth thing(THE REASON WE HIRED HIM) he completely took care of our Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Licence AKA Liquor Licence. HE took at 4-6 month process and shortened significantly. He took what was could have been the biggest head ache of my life to an easy automated process.

Now I must say HE was VERY EXPENSIVE but well worth it. On the long run I believe it saved us money. Unfortunately its one of those business expense that every Virginia restaurant/bar owner will have to go through.

"Social Haus Arlington" ? Seriously ? You should have diverted some of those legal fees to pay a branding expert to find you a viable restaurant/bar name.

Good luck trying to get a successful business going in that awful location! Particularly after the even more awful business and its reputation that preceded you at that location...

I would like to echo Ardavan's review.

Mark Dycio has a wealth of knowledge and is worth every penny. When we were in a bind he was able to provide valuable counsel and put together a feasible plan to move forward and get the deal done.

I would use Mark again in a heartbeat. If you want to have counsel that is equipped with substantial knowledge and a strong network of local officials and influential professionals, Mark Dycio is your guy.

I work next to Velocity 5 and go there once or twice a year, I'd go there more but the food is terrible, a co-worker wanted to go so I was just there on Friday, the burger I had was bland, no spice, no juicy flavor, somehow even the blue cheese was flavorless. The previous poster was dead wrong about this spot being a tough area, Fireworks, Ragtime, Sawatee (or however the hell you spell it) are all thriving. Last summer I took my family to Velocity 5 because there was a long wait at every other restaurant in the area. Good riddance to Velocity 5, I'll be happy to check out the new place although beyond brats I'm not much of a fan of German food.

Walked by there on Sunday and it's still crappy old Velocity 5. A half full sports bar on championship game Sunday.

Two years and three months later this guy finally opened his bar and in a shocking turn of events Courthaus sucks 100% as bad as Velocity 5.

1) The FREE BEER sign that upon closer reading says FREE (wifi) (great) BEER, quite funny, funny how stupid these guys are. Some of our clients saw your sign and invited their friends to stop by, only to get made the butt of your little joke when their buddies figured out the prank. So you've already pissed off high spending local drinkers who would have been some of your best customers.

2) Velocity failed because of the staff, changing the name and keeping the staff won't make you money.

3) Your bar top is sticky and nasty, throw a few layers of a clear coat on it, you opened a new bar and my first impression was that it is nasty.

4) Your food is nothing special but you are charging higher prices than your competition.

5) You claim to be a beer garden, but just about every bar in the area blows your beer selection away, Ragtime/Fireworks/the Irish place/the hookah place/Summers, they have beers. German beer blows, but you may want to stock some.

6) Your branding sucks, I noticed the new tables and chairs but had no idea that you had changed the name and theme until I saw the menu.

7) Your branding sucks, your menu is all over the place, with German, American, and whatever the hell the cook can throw together. If it wasn't for the Haus reference I probably would not have guessed the theme.

8) The lettuce and tomato go on top of the fucking burger, not under it. You charge $15 for a burger and your kitchen doesn't know how to put the damn thing together.

9) Fresh fries, I paid $15 for a fucking burger with fries, how about cooking them fresh rather than dumping the stale leftover batch on my plate.

Take advantage of the Caps and Wizards playoff runs, no one goes out to watch the Nats and the Skins play once a week, at this rate you'll be closed before the fall NHL and NBA seasons start.

A "tough area" ? I hope you meant bc there are a lot of spots to choose from...not no one goes out around here...

I went to the Courthaus Social the other day for lunch, nice enough place, I'm going to try a brat next time, only issues were that I ordered curly fries and they ran out and that they are a sports bar and they couldn't get the Nats on the TV, I was hoping that the manager would call Direct TV and get that fixed.
