I just walked outside in burke and saw huge oaktree fall in the woods. Be careful everyone. I hope power does not go out.

A light pole just fell on a parked car in a shopping center.

It's so sweet to say that your mom is a hot chick.

Pretty heavy winds in Centreville. Thought an airplane was going over... its just the wind. They really didn't mention this on the weather... all the coverage was about the northeast.

The solution is not a generator. The solution is better electricity distribution and it will come (and then you will be sitting with a worthless generator). They are working on solutions as we speak.

You can also choose your residential location with an eye on the grid and you will never be without electricity for more than a day or so (my situation). We are always first ones back on. No need to waste money on a generator. !!

I loved my generator last summer when we had the derecho. Power in my hood was out for a week. My generator runs on natural gas with propane backup in case gas is disrupted. I had to stop it for an hour or so to change the oil twice during that week otherwise it ran nonstop. It was fun to watch the neighbors suffer while I had A/C, fridge and four other circuits in my house working. I did take in an elderly neighbor the first night until his son came and picked him up. My gas bill was almost 500 bills that next month but it was worth it!
