Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
So, has your subdivision been plowed? If so, do you know if it's under VDOT or FFX Cnty's jurisdiction? I'm in a VDOT-maintained neighborhood in Vienna (not City of Vienna) and the roads are untouched...just one big sheet of ice. Just got off the phone with VDOT and rep told me that subdivisions get plowed last (I knew that) but couldn't tell me how long was reasonable to expect them to work their way to the bottom of the list of priorities. What I'm wondering is if they can't get to subdivisions in a day or so, is it realistic to EVER expect them to plow, since most of the time, snow is melted away or hopelessly packed down within a day?
They won't plow for and inch or two of snow and don't expect them to salt it. My subdivision in Fairfax is one of the last to see a plow and they won't come at all unless we get more that a few inches.
At least in my neighborhood, we have a few people in my neighborhood that have plows on their trucks. I have seen them in the past to plow the streets.

You all are a bunch of pussies. What did we have, maybe an inch of snow if we were lucky and you want your street plowed? Just drive like you have some sense. You're not getting your street plowed and Fairfax County doesn't plow the streets, that's VDOT.
