also nice how you left out this tiny little tidbit: Part of the $63 million increase will go toward hiring 293 teachers and administrators to cover a projected jump in enrollment.

I neither wrote the article nor did I offer my or any opinion or outlook on the issue. Perhaps you misinterpreted my hope readers 'enjoy' the article. That or you simply project your own hostility on other posters...

anyways, all I said was and 8/hr quip cause the thread topic was about pay raises. Most ppl would see that as the stupid dumbass GB-type joke that it was.

also pointed out that little part about the 293 new ppl getting hired cause to me, that was the most important part of the article you provided.

forgive GB she has no idea what she is talking about, its come to be expected.

It's not much of a raise. There is a cooresponding increase in retirement contributions (which I don't object to and is partially offset by a different "raise"). This increase in the retirement contribution slightly decreases the pay increase.

For me, after 20 years teaching, and advanced degrees, the raise will amount to about $36/month increase in pay.

Also, while my contract time is "7.5 hours with a duty-free 30 min lunch", I am in the school working most days for 9 - 10 hours.

expect even less. you now will pay more to social security and shortly to the obamacare act.
