No. That is a game that could have been won. London Fletcher and the rest of the old timers deserved better. Alfred Morris carried this team after RG3's first injury. A mix of him and Cousins would have carried the team to victory after the 1st quarter injury. When you are one dimensional a loss is a given. Coudo's to the defense to hold on as long as they did.

Bad knee cant plant foot = bad passes. I thought someone with Shanahans experience knew that.

I dont care what Griffin wants or doesnt want Snyder gave Shanahan more authority over the team than any other coach has over their team in the NFL. Up 14-0 pull Griffin. Its do or die game, no chance for selfish interests.

actually, just like strasburg, he shouldve waited until the playoffs to play him. so what if the skins didnt win the division/make it to the playoffs? the redskins paid out the ass for rg3.

i honestly feel the only reason rg3 played hurt since the ravens game isnt because of his health, rather because luck wouldve made someone in the skins organization feel stupid for not taking luck instead. either way, rg3 isnt a pocket passer and teams will figure out how to stop him. in the end, luck > rg3.

Too much hubris and selfish pride ruled the day. They should have made the switch at halftime.

By the break it was clear he had one leg, and wasn't planting correctly to throw. The coach answers in any case if the team loses, but it was obvious he couldn't play, That aside, considerations for RG's future and his wobbly knee, bolstered by todays diagnosis of further ligament damage, would have constituted acceptable and defensible reasons for having made a change,win or lose.

Shanahan put on blinders and let emotion rule, by letting a guy who couldn't play hobble around and be ineffective for more than half of the game. I would be very surprised if the damage to the knee isn't upgraded, and it turns out to be more serious than these first reports. Hindsight is 20/20. But thats why Shanahan gets big bucks,and why most people are now riding him like a cheap carnival pony.

Everyone treated RGIII like he had the wisdom of his ability - he doesnt. He is a kid with amazing talent. Someone in the business for as long as Coach S. should have been able to see the weakness of RG by half time - I am sure the Seahawks did. Sad because Cousins and the rest of the team probably could have scored at least one more and Not given up the easy fumble at the end thereby giving DC the win.

Seriously, you dont think the offense sans a severely injured RG couldnt have mustered at least one more touchdown in 2 quarters? I am just a fan but it was completely obviously RG could not even run or throw as good as Grossman after the 2nd touchdown by the Skins. Cousins is an exceptional quarterback - exceptional. Shanny drank too much of his own Koolaide and now RGIII may not have a career.

Cousins at 100% pisses on RG3 in the state he was in. Without the fumble by RG3 and one TD the skins win. No one can argue that. The fumble was the dagger and RG3 didnt even try and cover it up. Fuckin bitch.

Maybe, but I also would have looked up and made a play to cover up the ball I had just fumbled, but to me, the dude just gave up. He was probably pissed at having to play and realized the fumble was his way out of the game and he could lie there like he was all hurt and play the sympathy card.

I don't know, it takes a special kind of ass to stay in the game and play like shit but still believe you are doing good. Reality hit RG3 right in his face on that fumble.

I find it very troubling that rg 111 didn't pull himself out in the best interest of the team. now that i see his true colors i don't put much hope in the near future of the redskins. oh and god help shanahan had he pulled him. the liberal media would have turned it into a big controversy possibly even a race issue. when it's all said and done it's best not to put too much energy into washington sports.

looks like RGIII has torn ACL and possibly LCL - he will have surgery in the next few days. That could well put him out for 10-12 months. I could also mean he never ever runs as well (recall Peterson only had torn ACL and it was his first and this is RG's second).

That was a short run for such a talent - hope he was insured cause he will be making commercials for a living in the very near future then working at Home Depot.

It's probably not right to second guess the pulling of RG3.

But the decision to draft Cousins will save the Shans jobs. But I think it's way more likely Kyle jumps ship this offseason.

@atom - true that. the ravens game proved to me that Shanny knows what he's doing

that being said, there is NO WAY putting Cousins in that Seahawks game (at any time) would have won us that game. We simply did NOT have to tools to win that game. Seattle brought a WALL to town with them and we did not have an answer for that. That's why we lost.

If we focus on building our defense and making future plays with BOTH good QB's, we could bring a trophy home next year

p.s. it's funny to see everyone else whine about how butthurt we are over the game instead of plan for a successful future, right? LoLz

As we speak, RG3 should be under the knife.

I was at the game (and close.) Cousins was pissed. I've never seen anyone throw warm up passes that hard.

I think if he was put in at the 2nd qtr we would have had an even shot at winning.
