Police Helicopters in Great Falls ???

Does anyone know the reason for police helicopters seen and heard on 01-06-13, in Great Falls, near the river, but well outside it, circling for hours and last heard around 2:30 AM on 01-07-13

Older gent with health issues went for a walk yesterday around noon and has been missing since.

A 60 year old man was missing. Not sure if there was any reason for special concern about him. He was located and okay - just a bruise on his head - in GF Park.

That is odd... missing yesterday, not for 48 hrs and a copter goes out looking for him? No police cars or police on foot, just send out a helicopter for someone taking a walk and gone for a few hrs? Wonder why they were up around 2AM with no search lights? What am I missing here?

yr missing the fact the heli has a body-heat sensor................
also missing the fact it was FUCKING COLD last night - best time for a) person in the woods to be found and/or b) person in the woods to die if they are lost and not protected against the elements..........
p.s. hard to get interceptors back in the woods like that. And a foot search requires LOTSA ppl - not something you just cobble together in 20 minutes, k?

There were cops out in cars as well as on foot - had cops parked across from my house for a few hours while they looked.

Yeah, be it hot or cold, I believe they wait for a return if the person be of age and sound mind. Could have been a spec situation. ??? They were probably searching the pipe lines from the river into the residential areas. For the most part it takes an act of God to get the helicopter out, unless the pilot needs some air time. Glad the guys okay.
