When I went to pick up some food at Popeye's, I noticed quite a few police cars around the front of Giant, with yellow police tape blocking off some portions of the parking lot.

Didn't have any time to find out what was up, had to prepare for a New Year's Eve party.

Any answers to what happened?

An assh*le in a black BMW hit a pedestrain in the parking lot. The driver was speeding through the parking lot like a bat of hell and tried to drive off after he hit the ped. Other customers forced him to stop.

I was there leaving the store. There was a silver dodge caravan that went out of control in the parking lot and hit a bunch of cars. The guy was really old. He slammed into a car head on (knocking over the handicap sign in the process) then started crazily backing up, hitting cats, going forward, hitting cats. After about 30 seconds his car took off at around 40mph across the lot and stopped in front of Positive Image. He started in the first parking row (right before the road dividing the lot). It was really scary. People were screaming and totally freaking out. I haven't heard what the problem was, whether it was a medical emergency, car malfunction or what. It was really scary though. It didn't seem like anyone was seriously hurt - thank goodness. It all happened around 2-2:15 yesterday. He must have hit 5-8 cars. He really smashed them up. The van looked like it had been in a demo derby.

Oh, the irony!

A local contractor has been hiring illegals and murdering them at the end of the job to avoid paying them. He dumped the bodies in the parking lot.

There was a reporter from WKRP who was doing a live New Year's Day broadcast from the front of the store.

There wouldn't be police tape then.....

That Giant was running a sale on day-old donuts, they had made too many "2013"-themed ones for the New Years Eve crowd and it was like a madhouse when the police showed up.

There was a big fight in the parking lot over a chicken drumstick (fried). They were examining what was left of it and trying to determine where it came from - most likely Popeye's or the Giant deli.
