Was just listening today and thinking whatever happend to flounder? a little googling and i found out he was fired last year but could not find a reason why? i must say whenever i did listen to the show he was always the more interesting one to listen to. elliotts fake laugh and tylers gayness are terrible..

anybody have any insight as to why he was fired after 12 years on the show?

I think I remember Elliott saying one day that Flounder didn't want to do what they wanted him to do and was fighting them about how things were done. Not wanting to go along with the plan. If I remember right.

Because he was a fat fuck.

I never listen to Elliot because he sucks but seems like Flounder thought he was bigger than the show tried flexing his muscle and they fired him. Stuff like this with bit characters happened all the time on the Don and Mike show.

I just found this post so I'm adding late.
I moved here 8-9 yrs ago and at first, Flounder was always "lets do this" and it was funny. Then real fast, all I heard was, "I don't want to do this" and they would call him a pussy on the air. He made the bits boring. Also, his mashups were never good. He got too big for his britches. He even went so far as to say "I'm the #2 person on DC101". No..All of EITM Elliot, Diane and Tyler are the most known names and then Jones and Roche. Bailey was awesome and was above Flounder on the likeable scales. A nerdy name for a fat ass won't make you #2 in the ranks.
The only person lower is the new DJ Tessa who consistantly says the dumbest things on the air, let alone when she called a kid a "FAIL" on the air when Tessa couldn't hear the kid's request on the phone. It was really petty on her part. I think Tessa's gone now. She's been off the air for some time. Good.

it's not the 90's anymore dude nobody cares about DC 101 personalities and the shows are completely irrelevant. have fun listening to the same dozen songs and elliot segal's horrible morning zoo laugh.

Why would anyone have cared about such trash back then either? It's not like ANY morning drive-time radio ever had any actual point to it. Lewd and crude -- the equivalent of "Hee Haw" but lacking the Lil Abner pictures of scantily-clad farm girls.

I listen to DC101 for about 25 minutes every 6 months to see what's popular.

That's about 25 more minutes than I put in. So sad, growing up here in the 80s DC 101 was the shit. Only HFS came close. Now, it's a paler, lamer parody of itself.

DC 101 has a history of firing talented people for no reason other than corporate bullshit. They replaced the king of all media, a billion dollar earning talent with that loser grease man, then eventually fired him long after it became apparant that he was a racist. Now they have that braying donkey laugh elliot and his uptight side kick who are too lame for words. DC 101 has jumped the shark many, many years ago.

Oh my dear God. Why do so many people who hate the show waste their time replying to this. Does it really piss you off that much? You can't just not listen to that station or... Read a different thread?

Dear Lord do I have that Eliot guy. What a braying jackass. DC101 used to be a great station. Just hearing that guy's voice--I turn it off and won't turn it on for weeks.
