WASHINGTON – Charles Christopher Dudley, deputy director of the U.S. Marshals Service, died from what police believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in suburban Washington last week.

Authorities said he called police from his home in Fairfax Station, Va., on Friday, threatening suicide. When officers arrived, they found him dead. Fairfax County police are awaiting a final determination on the case from the local medical examiner’s office but do not suspect foul play.

Dudley, 46, was appointed the No. 2 marshal in 2009. He joined the service in 1990 as a deputy marshal in northern Georgia. Over the years, he served as chief of staff and chief of investigations, and managed the agency’s elite fugitive task force program, personally helping arrest several fugitives.

Agency colleagues said Wednesday that Dudley was well-liked. His online obituary included nearly 200 tributes from fellow workers.

In summing up his career with the Marshals Service, Dudley said in a 2009 interview: “I just fell in love with the culture and the people. It’s humbling; it’s an honor.”

A memorial service is to be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church in Blacksburg, Va., where Dudley grew up.

US Marshals Service always get subpoenas approved for anything. They just say they are investigating a possible link to a fugitive and BINGO, judge says "OK". They don't even have to provide evidence. The only other group that has it that easy is Secret Service. Even the Intel community has to provide evidence to a judge at a FISC request.

That would be a confirmation, no. I neither confirm nor deny your rabbit hole. I simply say keep your eye on the ball. The shemale did nothing illegal, just stupid. And stupidity often has consequences. Once you get on the bad side of LEO's, they can make your life suck in about 10 minutes and keep it going for as long as they want. I do work for USMS and from what I surmised from the statements that were circulated:

He was very close with his 9 year old daughter.

He was divorced or separated.

If that's the case, I'd surmise the holidays were sucking for him.

Ever occur that maybe he called someone saying he was going to kill himself and maybe, just maybe, the cops felt that and his job made it necessary for them to take those measure. If someone threatens suicide and is known to have guns, I wouldn't expect the cops to prance right up to the front alone. The idiocy on this forum is unreal.
