Fairfax Water lately

Has anyone noticed a change in the water supply from Fairfax Water? Recently our black clothes have a white film on them after washing them, and our clear tupperware lids have a nasty film on them after running them in the dishwasher. I have seen some Fairfax Water trucks in the area, and am wondering if they stirred something up. We are in the Herndon/Chantilly area.

It has nothing to do with the local water. 17 states enacted low phosphate regulations back in 2010. Rather than have two different formulas for detergents, the detergent makers have gone to low phosphate detergents nationwide. The nasty film is scale that the phosphates would have removed, if they were there. There are a few new low-phosphate detergents that actually work, but not many.
