Old Dominion Speedway finally bites the dust

Prince William County board approves a redevelopment plan allowing for townhouses on land occupied by Old Dominion Speedway for over 60 years.
Actually, surprised the guy who bought the track 10 years ago at the height of the real estate boom didn't shut down way sooner. Kudos to him. You can now shut the door on rednecks in Manassas. Now officially a multi cultural stew forcing out the rednecks with your lah de dah's and ther boring megamansions living on the fringes. enjoy your evening wine you boring turds. whoops

Can't believe that it lasted this long!

While I have never raced at Old Dominion's 1/8th mile dragstrip, I have attended many events on the oval. It's a cool place, for what it is - or was...

Anyways, I am anxious to see what they can do for a track in Fredericksburg or Stafford and understand they have property along I 95 with enough room for a 1/4 mi track. Only problem I see, is one has to leave early to beat the I 95 SB traffic in the afternoons.

Noise ordnancea will keep tracks out of this area.

But Hagerstown is always fun, and you get a more authentic redneck experience.

The new complex off 95 will be VERY nice. They already have permits and plan to break ground soon. Expect a state of the art oval, road course, drag strip, concessions, etc.

Good job with the ethnic cleansing! Those 3rd worlders driving out functioning white people will sure fix up the place real nice. Manassas Park looks like the barrio of my dreams already. Visit Georgetown South for the potent mixture of America's black and brown future. The accordion music is diverse-a-tastic! But remember, don't run over the feral children.

Too bad. I have fond memories of blasting down that eighth mile in in my '57 Chevy in the 60's. Still got a couple trophies out in the garage.

Damn shame too how we hacked up those '55-'57 Chevys. They were a dime a dozen back then. I wish I had filled a barn with them.

Oh well, at least us old timers have our memories of when this place was great. The young'uns won't have that.
