With everybody fucking around in the passing lane and the traveling lane, if you want to travel a normal speed sometimes you can't help passing on the right.

Yes, but in this thread they are talking about passing on the right shoulder of the road (outside of what is considered a lane for traffic).

I have seen'em pull over 2 folks in the last 3 months.

"Passing on the right" does not mean you just passed a car on their right. It means you traveled in a lane that isn't a valid travel lane when you passed another vehicle. For example if someone was in the rightmost lane and you passed them on the shoulder, or on the red-X lane in the case of I-66.

yes, we do stop people for that. next time we pull over a vehicle for that violation, we will give you a call. what is your phone number?

I have seen it enforced several times in the last few years.

If there are any cops hanging out in the normal lanes, you'll probably get busted.

I'm generally not for photo enforcement, but in the case of these 66 lanes i'm all for it! I imagine some just don't understand, but the majority are just self centered idiots.

What blows me is eastbound between 50 and nutley, even in the middle of the day, there could be clear roads ahead but people are only doing 40-45 MPH (seriously!) and leaving 6 car gaps between each other, playing with their phone/GPS while they figure out what lane to be in to get on 495. Or they merge on the highway doing 45 and STAY AT THAT SPEED slowing down everyone else who has been doing 60-65 at that point with the pace of traffic WTF!!!!

THIS is why I pass people on the left OR right as soon as I can! I look out for the feds though and am smart about it!

66 is consistent with this sort of driving behavior. No other road is like that. Is there something that they put in the water in Centerville and Manassass that causes drivers to consistently impede the flow of traffic?
