College Essay for Virginia Tech

Does anyone know if they use Google and or Turnin.com to check if we didn't steal the essay from another website?

No. You can safely use the first essay that comes up in google.

Cross my heart. Just copy and paste whatever comes up first. Don't even give it a quick read, just go with whatever google returns at the top.

The top result is obviously the one that works best, or it wouldn't be on top.

No VA Tech doesn't use any checking software.

It's all the honor system. Feel free to use exact phrases and essays from google and Bing. In fact you can even leave the name the same to give the other person credit. The professor won't care.

All they do is run it through a spell-check, and grade it on a scale of 1 to 100.

Definitely no checking that you didn't copy from the web.

If VA Tech is like many other schools then the essays are not even read. Reviewers assume these essays are written by parents or heavily edited by consultants, so they mean nothing. Just a hurdle to try to separate the seriously interested.

I know for sure that GWU give no weight to the essays.
