White Truck Parked?

The "White Guy Walking" thread made me think about the following person.

Who parks their pick-up with camper shell next to Citibank in Mclean? The message on the truck is anti-Primerica. They used to park it at the new McDonalds and at that time they were denouncing the services of some window company.

I personally feel this is one of those people who are never satisfied.

But hey, maybe they have been screwed over, I wouldn't put stickers on my vehicle admitting it however. I thought when it was at the Mc Donalds they had a web address, anyone recall it?

This guy is a puzzle to me. Over the years he's used that same truck sign for advertsing what looks like his business ventures, all of the ads seem to disparage a competetor.

First was "Lemonbusters" some kind of car buying service. The sign cracked on a local car dealer.

Next was a title company. Sign said "XXXXX Settlement Comapny Soaked Me!"

Then it was"nojunkwindows.com" and the sign was badmouthing another window company.

Doesnt appear he's advertising anything, maybe just has a beef with Citibank. Probably not a good business model what he does unless his rivals pay him to stop or something....

See my post under "White Guy Walking". I'll post a pic of the guys truck later today (Friday). He is not the same person this post is referring too, unless he has two trucks that he uses to express his thoughts on. The other guy on the other post is clearly about biblical/historical events, not bad dealings with company's.

Doesnt sound like the same M.O..This library guy sounds like a religious or political extremist trying to save souls or warn of the pending apocalypse. THe DC area is a magnet for this type as nuts believe if they come to DC they'll get noticed. Kind of like Hollywood....

Libraries are festering with lunatics, mad geniuses and the homeless...:(

Personally my favorite is the printing shop on RT 7 right before Falls Church that has a huge sign in it's window saying something like "Don't use X Bank they ripped me off"

THe printing shop on Broad Street in Falls Church city:
Very nice lady working behind the counter told me the owner had a check made out to him from a customer who had a Wachovia account. He went to the bank to cash the check and even though it was on Wachovias paper he was charged a few bucks because he didn't have an account, then refused a refund. He put up the sign several years ago,, Wachovia sent a PR guy out with $100 and an apology but the owner refused, says he spent more than that on the sign, so there it sits.

Preston Signs is a good shop with good prices, better than all of those quick crappy places. They are local folks who've been in the biz a long time..

I drive by the truck in McLean all the time. It says something like "Citbank PrimAmerica is a Rip Off".

Yes PrimAmerica is a multi-level insurance and other financial insturments marketing company that has angered many people over the years.

What is amazing is the truck is always there it seems. Even on Christmas Eve. And it is parked 15 feet from the PrimAmerica door.

I do wonder if it slows down the retail walk ins to that office. I would imagine it does.

And I remember a few years ago someone carrying a sign accross the street from a furniture store in Vienna disparaging the furniture store. I saw the guy in Mcdonalds later and asked him about it. He said the Fairfax County Police made him move on - despite the fact he was on a public sidewalk marching back and forth with his sign. He told me they said "impeding traffic" or something. I can not confirm this - just telling me what he told me.

And this was right after the Fairfax police arrested a man for violating Best Buy's official unwritten rules.

So credit to FCP! They let this guy express his opinion without bowing to the concerns of a large bank. I was very angry at them over the Best Buy unwritten rules case and I am glad they are doing much much better now.
