there use to be a number of camps in the woods off pickett road in fairfax city but for the most part they are gone chased away by city cops

I rarely even see homeless outside and around the lamb center during the hours its closed anymore

if I do see someone homeless you usually see a city cop hassling them

wonder why the lamb center didn't expand into the empty 7/11 store

looks like another asian business is moving in

Most of the slags that were squater camping near The Lamb Center have moved to state poperty found at every highway interchanges like Rt. 50 & 66. FXPD has no jurisdiction there. Some even are building small houses there. Major encampments can be found all over.
Hundreds of illegal immigrants have homesteeaded their an thousands more can be found thru out the region on state property. All approved thru the policy's of places like The Lamb Center and its affiliated organizations!

Easy way to find them is to scour the sex offender registry. A number of them will list their address as "Homeless near intersection of X and Y etc."

So what's it like being an illegal immigrant census taker to come up with those numbers?

What do you do when you've used all your fingers and toes to count? It must be hard, as I can assume you've got to be missing a few digits to even make it to 20.

Have you seen the one on WB Rt.50 at 66? There's a piece of pink surveyor's ribbon on a tree and they even put in a gravel path to it. I saw the work release guys and a Deputy going into it the other day. Hopefully to kick the vermin out.

I would not care if they were to live in the woods but the problem is they trash them. It beats paying for them to stay at a hotel Fairfax County should look into making a bum campground. Throw a few Don Jons in the woods 5 burn barrels and a couple 40 yard dumpsters on 10 acres and let the mentally ill have At it.

There was a camp at 50/66 as you drive west on 50 past the first exit on the right you could see it. Driving by there in the mornings you would see dudes on bikes with bags of supplies pulling off the shoulder there and you could see a large blue tarp from Rt. 50. As far as I know that one was shut down 2 years ago....haven't seen any activity down that way unless the moved further off the road.

There's one (as of earlier this year anyway) near the VRE Depot on Backlick Rd., Hechinger Drive.

And a Huge Carnival sized tent along those CSX tracks heard towards the Alexandria Kings Street Station, on the 495 side of the tracks in the woods.

Have you been there? Have you observed, at all, what goes on?
As is slowly being exposed more and more with the much improved and readily available video recording capability these days, the problem with homelessness, coupled with the illegal immigration invasion going on, the homesteading on state owned/run/operated propertys are becoming occupied.
The general population has no idea of the reality of what is going on.
The Catholic churches are helping with the Pope's emphasis on 'embracing' the illegal immigration. They are literally advocating them. Helping with the trafficking of them.
With the employment problems getting steadily worse because of it. Which, in turn, perpetuates the homeless situation going on with citizens.
The L@mb Center is, along with its affilated organizations, are especially 'Catholic Based' orgs. Saying they help the homeless, yet 'divert' the funding to help illegal immigrants much more than the rest.
By not detailing this, along with other 'diversions', such as helping substance abusers over others. This causes a serious detrimental void to those who are homeless in need. When they are soliciting for donations and matching government tax dollars, they do not specify this fact.
Many of these homeless in need ones are U.S. Military veterans. Who made a sacrifice in serving our God and this country. Along with a few other mentionable honorable ones who need and deserve the help just as bad. And these orgs care not.

Here's the squatter camp located on Braddock at the old 7100 off ramp. It has been there for a while, easier to see when the trees lose their leaves. It was destroyed earlier this year, but it was recently rebuilt, looks better than ever.

About the squat by the Braddock exit, that's Billy Joe's camp up there. He's usually out in good weather working the line. I never give him cash but we do talk. He's always been friendly, never acted like a dick because I don't hook him up. Say hi next time, he may be a bit rough looking but he's nice enough. Most I've ever handed over is bottles of water in the hot summer months. My funds are to tight to just give it away!

Where Rt7 and Idlywood Rd intersect (near 66 in the West Falls Church/Pimmit area) there is a homeless camp in the woods that back up to Fairfax Towers apartments and St Pauls Luthern Church.

I just stumbled across it while walking the dog and hitting a bowl the other night. Judging from older satellite photos the camp has been around for a good ten years.

Does he have a dog? If so, I think I've seen the guy you're talking about. I remember seeing the blue tarp but not that shack on the top of the hill.
