Obama and no declaration of emergency for Fairfax County[is in VA]

I didn't see Virginia on the list of Obama's emergency declaration states. Why not or did I miss something? Last time I looked Fairfax County was near DC which was on the list.

If Obama did declare for Virginia does anyone have a link?

Noticed Obama was going to Florida but stayed in DC to manage the weather emergency. Hmmmm...most likely he was grounded for his campaign flight.

50 mph winds and some flooding don't constitute a full state of emergency for the state of Virginia. The tropical storm is just going to graze Virginia. We don't need to waste federal money in Virginia.

Closing school in Fairfax county was a WAY OVER REACTION!

Damn that Obama, he caused this on all of us. Why isn't he on tv right now telling people how much this is hurting you. Clearly your life is the most important and world revolves around you. Screw people in south jersey who are in actual danger or the beach towns on the eastern shore, TALK ABOUT FAIRFAX AND THE 20mph wind gusts we have you SON OF A BITCH PRESIDENT!

THIS IS THE STORM OF THE MILLENIUM IN FAIRFAX! We are dying! You killed people in Bengazi now you want to kill people in Fairfax!

*Washed away in the floods*

The storm is an Obama plot with the Muslim Brotherhood to destroy NJ.

I was just in Atlantic City. It flooded so bad I jumped into a craps table and paddled my way to safety.

Obama doesn't declare state of emergencies without consulting STATE officials. McDonnell calls emergency for no real reason. All we have is mist and light wind.

Send emergency stuff north of VA.

What a douche! There is he in the White House pretending to be useful, as if he's actually managing emergency response to the storm. Total dickhead!

They declared emergencies in DC, MD and VA on Saturday.

Remember the snowstorm in 1989 or 1990, and everyone was shocked about Herndon applying for federal disaster relief for the snow removal costs? That broke the barrier. Now, states declare states of emergency ahead of time to get the paper work and other processes of getting federal relief money rolling.

I agree. Unless we get hammered with 100+ MPH winds for any sustained amount of time, the worst we're going to have is downed trees and some broken windows.

They're already getting 90 MPH sustained winds on the eastern shore and north, they will have some real damage.

Apparently, some of the people posting here think that Fairfax is the only place in Virginia. Check out the storm damage around the Bay. There is terrible tidal flooding in the Hampton Roads area and the Eastern Shore (for those of you that are geographically impaired: the Virginia counties of Accomack and Northampton make up Virginia's Eastern Shore). Tangier Island (also a part of Virginia) is almost totally covered by water now.

Those places don't count.

for the luv of God, MAN UP. Its raining. And the wind is a lil' ruff..... Checking situation protocol: move deck furniture to the garage. do not cry. do not wet urself. do not pray for deliverence. Prayer is good. Just don't pray in a manner that will cause God to think u r a whining little princess. Oh, yes...he knows.
